hey guys, i own an '05 5speed rx8 imported from japan. ive been searching the forums but not much info with regards to the input shaft bearing for this specific model. Are the bearings the same as the 6mt? if not, can someone direct me to where i can find the bearings for the 5mt? Also considering changing my gear oil. I've read the 6 speeds use around 1.9 quarts. Is that the same amt reqd for the 5 speed.. Any help would be great guys.

o, forgot to mention i live in guyana, south america. we import most of our vehicles from japan.

 

Europe has the 5MT model, maybe open a thread in the Euro section....

None are the same for 5 or 6 Speed Input Shaft Bearings, there are 5 different types for BOTH Series RX-8..2004 and 2009.

5 Speed
Series 1 R501-17-295A Bearing Ball
Series 2 R502-17-295 Bearing Ball

6 Speed
Series 1 (has two front and rear) Y601-17-204 Bearing Ball, Y604-17-233 Bearing Needle.
Series 2 P501-17-170A Bearing Ball
