Is there any technicians here with experiance. Because from this it seems like you guys dont know what your talking about. People should study their facts first before doing any performance modifications and thinking they might be fast all of the sudden. Everything has a downside and upside when modifing a vehicle. If you don't know what your doing then dont't do it at all.

I suppose Mazda Motorsports didn't have a clue when they built and sold a competition RX-7 exhaust system to all their race teams with a megaphone exit then?

yeah, apparently you need some lessons ... except in this case it would be the blind leading the blind because neither one of you understands what you're talking about

So why don't NHRA cars run with no exhaust at all...?

Because exhaust velocity is important. The balance between flow and velocity is important.

I've only seen the horn exhausts on turbocharged vehicles. The size and shape of the horn is "tuned" for optimum pressure change. This is by no means lopping off the exhaust at the cat...

lol seriously my 8 is catless an straight pipe for the most part, besides bending an exhaust myself for it, 2 glass packs off of a t where the stock muffler begins, it may be your catalytic converter, iv broken, blasted, and melted my fair share of them haha. aslo if has an aftermarket intake an maybe noticed i little deeper roar up front is another sign of overback pressure which is also may be the cat...

Why has every thread that I've looked at today been a thread bump from several years earlier?

new kids... some are smart enough to search before they type, but not smart enough to read and notice the topic is years dead, or to find dozens of other more recent and pertinent threads

Why hasn't anyone bumped the most beautiful girl thread? That would be worth it. This one? Not so much.

KJ238 you say you have a catless straight pipe? I am trying to do that actually to my Rx8 right now! Can you tell me if you noticed any problems or a decrease in anything?

Also in you're picture you have a hole in the pipe is that for a sensor?
Thanks.
