This noise started happen about 2 weeks ago, it never happened before and it's driving me nuts! It sound like a cricket got stuck under the hood. I thought it might be some belts but im not sure, whenever i press the gas the sound whirl faster. It also happen when im decelerating, or idling. When i tried to find the source of the noise, it seem to b near the engine. You cant hear it if u open the hood, but you can hear if u put your ears near the front wheels. I tried the search thing, but i havent find nething similar. Mine is a 04 AT with 29k miles on it

you mean the squeek squeek squeek at idle? I'm not fully understanding the whirl part, you mean the cricket sound goes faster?

Cricket... like, umm almost a purr-- very fast or clicking very fast... hahah

 

Idler pulley, belt, alternator bearing, release bearing, fan bearing....

 

Mine JUST did the 'cricket' sound haha and I warmed it up a bit. Cause it's freeezing here-- and it went away after a few minutes!
