Oooh a premix oil thread...goodie...

I purchase JASO FD-rated 2-cycle oil and use it at 3.5 - 4.0 oz/tank. The least expensive JASO FD rated 2-cycle oil is Lucas semi-synthetic in the 1 gallon jug. $26-33 / gallon and cannot beat the price. FD certification (highest rating) is for smoke, residue, and lubricity.

I recently drove by MazdaTrix to get my stash of Idemitsu Premix as well as Idemitsu Oil.

I was told long ago and conversation again brought issue to surface that Idemitsu Premix is to be used in street cars in a 1/2 OZ to one gallon of fuel.

So for a full tank (about 25 gallons in my car. ) I use between 7 to 8 OZ.

At MazdaTrix the crew knows. And talked to the racer himself, the "getting older" but still heavy foot on pedal racer whose name I can not remember.

1/2 OZ per gallon. Works great.

Your car will be fine, premix isn't a requirement.
Idemitsu is good, but any JASO FD rated 2 stroke oil will do. You don't need to spend a lot of money.

I have used Lucas brand premix when Idemsu was not in stock in my garage and I've had nothing but positive things to say as there have been no negative things to say about it. I run the 1/2 ounce of premix per gallon of gas and that's it.
