Which state of tune?!

Just wondering what engine you guys think is best as I have read that the 192bhp has more torque giving it better low speed responsiveness...?
any input is good!

cheers!

Arrow Torque.....

Actually I don't agree that the "low power" does has more torque....

If you look at the dyno charts Mazda issued at the launch, you would find they are pretty much the same. (I haven't seen them in a long time, but I couldn't see where it goes any higher than the six-port)

In fact, the six-port was quoted as having 159lb/ft at 5300, but also has 161 at 6300rpm, which is.....more, right? I just tell it how I see it - definitely no "dyno-reading-expert"

No I havnt seen the dyno charts. As I said I read that the more powerful engine has less torque at similar rpm. As you can see below.

"192 5-speed manual (1,308cc): 141kW (192ps) at 7,000 rpm; 220Nm (162 lb ft) torque at 5,000 rpm.

231 6-speed manual (1,308cc): 170kW (231ps) at 8,200 rpm; 211Nm (156 lb ft) torque at 5,500 rpm." (source Honest John)

Oh and this from Mazda seems to suggest similar:

http://www.mazda.co.uk/NR/rdonlyres/...ifications.pdf

230 is 211 nm @ 5500

190 is 220 @ 5000

I'm not a dyno reading expert either, I just read.

You're not going to notice 6 hp anyway so whats it matter?

The 6 port has a carbon fiber drive shaft that probally makes up that 6 hp anyway.
