spark plug gapping
there's no real reason to regap them anyways unless you have coils that can handle the job, OEMs can't. i checked the gap and they were erratic at .060-.080", which is too much for pretty much anything. standard gap is right around .035" but still difficult to measure with these OE type SD plugs with recessed electrode.
yes they were this way when i pulled them out and i have no idea what exactly the owner or previous owners were trying to accomplish. perhaps they thought that it would miraculously make the front rotor build compression up from its 4.8/1.3/1.0 measured output.. which it didn't.
in fact i'm wondering if they maybe didn't somehow cause it, though none of the plugs were scalped and i didn't bother checking with a borescope the engine does have signs of a faulty/stuck single apex seal. i noticed something was wrong the second i pulled them out.
