Hymee and sco, nice job on the site.
I have a question though, are you guys going to sell the usb cable on the site? if not, would it be possible to put the recommendation somewhere on the page?

It would be nice to have some VCR like controls (rewind, step back, play, stop, step forward, fast forward) to quickly review the run using gauge display. You already have the display, why not make it even more useful?
It would also really help if you can compare two runs by plotting them on a graph. This would make it much easier to see small variations between runs.

That is a good question.
We have already started looking at some integrated graphing/charting of the same high quality as our gauges.

Hymee.

At the moment, Wildcard and Taka have both been using a Lindy brand USB/Serial adaptor.

We plan on updating the site ASAP when we have this resolved.

This problem is not related to Hymee (all the paperwork is always fine) or the Australian Post Services (they merely throw the boxes in a plane). but because during its trip around the world, the stuff goes through several airports and airlines, and through Customs who are notoriously slow, in US too.

I've been wondering for a while how I'd respond to that... it was pretty amusing going back and looking at that original screen shot of the dials and one day when I have time I want to go back through all 38 pages. I've still got the source code for that here somewhere ... I must fire it up one day for a bit of fun.
It's been a bit of a slog, a bit longer than I thought it would be, but we got to our first big stop on our journey. It's really humbling to have a bunch of you out there egging us on and supporting us by buying the product, despite how long it has taken.
And I feel really proud to contribute something significant back to this community... it's been like a second home for me since I feel in love with the '8.
We've had some really late nights lately finishing everything off and getting the first shipments out. Once we've recovered some energy we'll be diving into those features we've committed to provide and thinking about the future. There's some things I still want to do even better than we have and some features I still want to see in the base product but I don't have all the ideas - so please keep the suggestions coming. What gets implemented is influenced by your input.
If you've purchased the product and are having any issues, send an email to support@hymee.com and let us know and we'll help you out.

Received my shipment information from PayPal that mine is on its way.
The serial to USB adapter we need to get (if our laptop does not have a serial port), if I remember correctly, not just any manufacturer will work. Can you provide a list of the ones that will work? I know you mentioned the Lindy brand on page 14.

Yes, the Lindy one works fine. I've also had some feedback that a Targus one works fine, but I don't know the part number. In theory any manufacturer should work, but we've had issues particularly with "cheaper" serial to USB converters.
Again, apologies for not having the one available as promised... we're still looking into the late breaking issue that caused us to pull it from sale. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's actually a hardware issue with Hymee's notebook that's the cause, but we're doing more testing to be sure.

Some information for those who currently have a sCANalyser on its way - information about new features in beta 1.1 didn't make it into the manual before we cut the CDs.
Cheers
sco
- Fast mode is enabled automatically in the 1.1 beta.
- To use Full Screen mode, set up your gauges on the Live tab as you want them and then press F11 or click Tools|Full Screen
- Press Esc to quit out of Full Screen

The Targus adapter I use is model number PA088. Under my set up (Toshiba Tecra M2) you need to set the sCANalyser to COM4 (which I keep forgetting to do when I load the new version d'oh!)

Regarding version 1.1 (currently in beta)
We have provided it as side-by-side install to 1.0 :D That means you can have both installed at once, and don't need to uninstall/reinstall etc if you need to switch between the two.
Of course you could also run both of them together, but only one of them will be able to hold the serial port open.
Cheers,
Hymee.

Thanks Charles.
You can also track using this URL:
http://ice.auspost.com.au/
I recently had something sent express post from the US to Australia. I found it was better to track using the Australia Post site - it seemed to be a bit more up to date.
It might be actually worthwhile checking both sites... at times one could be more up to date than the other.

I just received the sCANalyser and installed version 1.0 and 1.1 beta. The programs launch OK but I am unable to connect to the vehicle. Let me tell you what I have done and hopefully you can tell me I'm being a dolt and missed something obvious.
I think that the mostly likely problem is the Serial to USB cable but so far it has worked flawlessly with my other applications (CANscan, Gtech, GPS, PDA...).
Any suggestions on how to get everything to play together nicely?
- Installed software
- Connected cable to OBDII port / CAN interface box / Prolific Serial to USB cable / laptop
- Start engine
- Launched sCANalyser (tried 1.0 and 1.1 beta)
- Changed communications port to COM5 (matches info listed in Device Manager)
- Pressed F10 to connect
- Error - connection timed out

I finally got it to work by double checking all of the connections. I'm not sure which of the connections was loose but it works now. It is a very slick piece of software! :D
It couldn't have come at a better time. As I'm currently trying to trace down some odd behavior with a recently upgraded CZ unit and I'll be doing a bunch of data collecting over the next few days.
