Wow. As much as they waste postage spamming the hell out of my mail several times a week, no joke!(U.S. mail that is) they can apparently afford to let some of their little if ever viewed papers get posted up. We paid for them. That makes them ours as far as I'm concerned. If they aren't mine to do with as I please then I want them to be perfect copies. In color! Bound! The quality is usually pretty poor since it's nothing more than years old photo copies.

I'll gladly share with whoever wants them though so they don't need to be hosted anymore anyways. It costs roughly $20 or so a paper (give or take a few) and the classes they give are in the thousands of dollars. You'd think they wouldn't be such whiney little bitches about a few papers (that someone else wrote that they sell!) that they probably won't make any money off of anymore anyways. That's right SAE, I called you whiney little bitches! Send me a certified letter telling me to cease and desist with slanderous remarks! I do have one big question for SAE. With all of your good information available, why are a huge majority of the SAE certified mechanics out there complete morons? Are the base standards actually THAT low?

I like the new tech info setup on the site Jeff!

Now the real questions is, what's the password?

Be careful that someone from SAE doesn't ask you for it. Anytime someone asks for a password, you need to know their forum name to verify you know who they are.

Exactly. The password isn't "exactly", I was just responding to your suggestion.

Hey! I hit 5000 posts at some point today!

The SAE is the Society of Automotive Engineers. You are thinking of ASE which stands for National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, which certifies automotive mechanics not engineers like the former. The SAE governs the body of engineers who engineer the cars the ASE mechanics repair. SAE Kicks major *** and i can get a discount on all of these papers if my roomate is still paying his sae dues. ill have to find out. Actually probably free

Last edited by JDMpurest; 06-02-2008 at 05:53 PM. Reason: adding discount info

You're right! Now I remember. I always wondered how SAE had so much good info but then many mechanics were complete idiots. That makes sense.

i have a question, my rx8 was recently dynoed i have an 04 grand touring 6spd, and i got chassis dynoed by a dyna pack protable one, (yes i know they are not that accurate[/i]) but, i lost a significant amount of power. I saw online on my fone at myrotarycar.com stock was running 178.4 hp, and 134.4 torque. My numbers were quite dismal with 148 hp to 128 torque. There is oil in my intake filter, but when i took out my intake filter i was still running consistant numbers. I was told to get a compression check done, but i was told it is probably not the case, i was also told that my CAT's could be bad and are impeding flow into my exhaust so i might need a whole new cat and a catback, but i am still not able to figure out how oil is going into my intake. Can anybody help me out? Tips? Advice? I ran synthetic in my car but i called up a mazda dealership nearby and they said "run regular oil, its a rotary, just run normal 5w-20" and i told them that one of their techs told me that i could run my car on regular but the guy at the dyno said just run premium, and that I'll get better curves and it'll unclog my injectors. Heres the low down on my car.

2004 Mazda RX8 6MT
stock, except for clutchmasters FX100 clutch.
Regular gas, and synthetic (which i plan on changing to regular)

Hi everybody,

I'm new to the forum, just bought a 2006 WWP Rx-8 a few weeks ago. I'd like to learn more about the rotary engine, but I have not been able to get in contact with Mazda Maniac. Does anybody know if he's still around? I've sent him a couple of emails but haven't heard back. This is a great forum by the way! Lots of helpful information!

Hello,

Is there a paper that gives a good overview of the ignition timing in a rx8 engine?

I have a 6port renesis in a miata, running with a MS2, it's running fine but I don't have much faith in the knocksensor circuit so I'm interested in the stock ignition map so I can use that as a starting point..

I mapped the engine last week with 22deg of timing, 0 split and it made around 170kW at the wheels at 8500rpm =)

I also had a look in a stock ecu dump from the denso ecu but I can't get much wiser from it, I have no idea on the factors used and the maps and axis seem to be defined different than the bosch ecu's I'm familar with
