One thing i'm noticing with the shockproof heavy is that it does take longer to "warm up" compared to the RP as the weather gets colder (which of course makes sense), though its only a couple more mins or so.
It isn't a hassle though, and the extra time waiting for it to get up to temp is worth it when compared to the durability it offers in the long run.

I'm quite familiar with the various weight Shockproof oils. I've been using them for over tens years on a variety of cars. If you're concerned with durability I wouldn't use anything less than Heavy Shockprooof on an RX-8 trans, or 75W140NS if you're concerned that Shockproof isn't the right choice.
From all this one could make the statement "LW shockproof is not the best oil for long life of your transmission - but under extereme conditions these transmissions tend to suffer catastrophic failure rather than gradual wear ,so you are probably no worse off in using LW "
What do you think Team ?
