Oil shelf life?

Just wondering if a bottle of dino oil is unopened, what is its shelf life? Will it last 1 year? 2 maybe? Reason I ask is I have a bottle of Castrol GTX in the trunk as a back up. It's been in there for about >1 yr now. Should I use it and replace with a new one?

One more thing... Penzoil or Castol GTX?

Better use up that quart in your trunk and replace it with a fresh quart .

it would last a LONG while

but if its already a year old, might as well just use it and replace it fresh one. I dont see why not.
