oil-p gauge?

I tried searching just had no luck so I'm just gonna ask. The oil-p gauge, is this oil pressure, and what level of pressure do I need keep it at? when I bought it the gauge like 7/8ths full and after driving it for 4 days I find it has dropped to about 5 or 6 8ths full and has not gone down at all in the last 3 days of driving. So what is the appropriate level on the gauge. I'm a rotary retard at this point, I'm just trying to learn all I can. Thanks.

Is your car an 06 or 07 model? I know for sure that on the 04 and 05 models the oil pressure gauge is not a functional gauge because the needle doesn't move. Racing Beat sells a mod you can buy to make it a functional gauge.

The oil pressure gauge is an idiot switch...it doesn't move until it is way too late....

Check your oil level in the engine every fill up....or every second. Top it up regularly and you should have no problems

Are you talking about the gauge on the dash or the dipstick? The gauge on the dash should never move. It will sit just to the right of middle, functioning (as everyone has pointed out) like an idiot light.

If you're talking about the dipstick, the original one wasn't well marked. There is an improved version with more marks. You don't need to replace your stick - just look up the TSB and get an idea of what the scale is. I think a lot of us top off when the oil gets a half quart below full, but that's probably a bit obsessive.

I think it's obsessive, which is why I enjoy doing it.

lol I check it more that once a week. Sometimes I just feel like looking under my hood. So I go out and take a look at everything. Just to be certain all is well.
