New RX-8 Owner
Hello all,
i have just purchased a 2005 RX-8 and im looking for a start on things to do to make it really go "zoom-zoom" is anyone able to start me off with a few cheaper ideas to make it go faster? it is an automatic grand touring loaded with all but Nav. i know most would say that the stick is the better way to go bit i have my wife in mind if she ever needs to drive it. i do really like the car but would like a base to start with this car. also in mind i need to only do mods or changes that will not affect the warranty. any idea or thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Get set for the onslaught of MT snobs who'll flame you for getting an auto.
There's not much you can do to increase power without installing a turbo or nitrous. Changing the intake and/or exhaust will get a tiny amount, but mostly affect the sound. There are a bunch of tales here of dealers refusing warranty service because of aftermarket intakes.
Check the FAQ (it has its own forum) and the performance forum.
Remember to red line it at least once a day. Use those paddle shifters to hold it in second or (depending on local laws) third or fourth for that.
Also check the "Show and Shine" forum. Mine runs a lot faster when it's clean and shiny.
Enjoy your 8!
