MSP16 poll

MSP16 '04-08 RX8 ENGINE LACK OF POWER'

I am curious regarding this special service program, and possibly others are as well. I decided to conduct a poll to shed a little light on this campaign and RX8 owner's cars.

Please take the time to select an awnswer. Also, please reply with a post and tell us the year of your car and any other comments/thoughts you'd like to share regarding the topic. You may also state your answer, if you wish.

Thanks.

There are numerous discussions on the subject back when the campaign was valid

When I posted the link the poll wasn't posted yet, so it looked more like just another feel good discussion thread than just another pointless poll thread.

What do you hope to accomplish now after so many years have past since the campaign took place?

.

Maybe next time you should read the post before pouncing with your "learn how to use the search function" rhetoric, that you so much enjoy doing. The second sentence of my post says, "I decided to conduct a poll...."

I don't hope to accomplish anything. Re-read my posts and you will see I am merely curious, that's all. This is an RX8 forum, is it not? We are allowed to talk about RX8 related topics, right?

Maybe I'll go over to the CTS-V forum and conduct the poll over there....

Just give your car's vin to your dealer and they can tell you if it's been performed or not. It costs nothing to have done, it is a service bulletin put out by Mazda.

The campaign is still valid.

Rather than a poll, though, it probably would have been better to have a DIY on how to print out the TSB and drive into a dealership with it in hand.

the campaign is still valid for any RX-8 produced before it came out in 2006 (six years ago) that has not had it performed yet. Production was altered to incorporate any changes after this point. So every RX8 after this date has the changes, but they do not get any special designation or status for it. I don't know why you think it has any merit for discussion now that wasn't already discussed then, but whatever.

You're allowed to discuss anything you want, but this is posted in the Tech Garage forums and I'm failing to see the technical merit to justify posting it here rather than in General Discussion.

My RX8 is a late-build 2007 (8/07) and according to Mazda of North America, it has not had the flash update performed. So no, it is not valid for only 2006 and older models.

Let me ask you this, why are you so concerned about what I, or anyone else for that matter, determine to have enough "merit" to be posted about? Additionally, if it is a topic that you could care less about, why not just ignore it? However, I must admit, I do appreciate your obnoxious rebuttals as they assist in bumping the thread right back to the top. For that I thank you.

Lastly, I posted this in the 'Tech' area because it is in fact technical issue. If a Mod feels it would more appropriately belong in 'General Discussion', then a Mod can kindly move it there.

And one more thing, clearly there are members here who are unfamiliar with MSP16, so why not let them learn about it, even if it isn't breaking news. Not everyone here is an authority on the RX8 as you seem to be.

It applies to builds into November 2007. That includes some '08s. Snarf the TSB from the TSB sticky and see if your VIN is in the range.

I think we do need a DIY on this.
