My motor is blown.

My motor has been blown for about two weeks now.
Mazda of Wayne is getting me a new engine, however, they are asking me
to give them a history for service done on the 8. They are mostly looking for a list of oil changes since i brought the car... My problem is that all my oil changes have been done myself in my friends yard for the 2 years that i own the car..
over all everyone, this ******* sucks right now, and i have no car to drive on top of this...
someone please help..
Thanx Marc...

Mazda of north America does not require maintenance records for an engine replacement.if they give youa hard time call MNA directly. Print those statements and give then to the dealer if you want to avoid the fight. Unless you signed something saying you accept any charges you may incur, they cannot hold your car, fyi.

I don't have that in writing. You can however say that they provided Stephen Trask of Jacksonville Florida a remanufactured engine under warranty on the 28th of December 2011 with absolutely no service records at all. It is the dealers discretion, ifyours is being shity find another.

The warranty book says you're supposed to keep maintenance records.

It's up to the dealers to decide how fussy they'll be. MNAO can intervene if the dealer is being too fussy or not fussy enough.

I hate to ask, but why didn't you keep the receipts for all the oil you bought for those two years if you knew the engine was under warranty?

All you have to do it staple them into a book, and keep that in your closet at home, with the date that you changed the oil, and a situation like this is prevented.

Take your car somewhere else. Mazda doesn't need any service records or receipts to honor the warranty. If the dealership has your back and tells them you need a new motor, they'll do it. You can read about my experience here:

Dude just go to a small shop, explain the situation, and slip them a C note for some oil change receipts.

Congrats!
How many oil change purchases were you able to get from Autozone?

Any issues with the dealer after you showed up with the receipts?

Guys thankyou, I just got my 8 back this evening. First of screw autozone they werent able to get me any receipts that was no older then 2 weeks . So I went over to my Bank(Bank of America) and got my statements and highlighted anything that I brought from autozone or any shop in Jersey. Another thing that I did was make up a little scrap book with notes of oil changes that I did in my friends yard. Over all thats all I did, and then the advisor over at Wayne Mazda took care of the rest.
