alright so i just bought a 2005 shinka! and yeah i dont know alot about the car. who does when they 1st get it . im trying to add horse power, i dont want to turbo it because ive been told its hit or miss with the 8s. so im trying to find out what i can do to add horse power?

 

There is a lot you can do to add power. You may add an intake and exhaust as well as cobb accessport. As for turbo being a hit or miss, that is not very accurate. One of the most important aspects of turbos is tuning. If your car is not tuned right then your gonna have serious problems. Answers about adding hp can be found in the major hp section. as for more horses simple bolt on will get you minimal gains and empty your wallet.

the best thing that I did for my 8 was buy the accessport from mazdamaniac. you can get more power and lots more with the AP. Like I said use the search feature....quickly!!!

Cobb Access Port 10-15 HP and an abundance of engine longevity and mileage factors.
CAI ,, AEM or Racing Beat with ram air duct. Real close in performance.
Exhaust,, Pick the sound and price you like. That's the best way.
BHR Igniton Coil upgrade,, Longevity of coils and increased performance.

I would suggest you learn about the Rotary Engine before you go and think you can just toss parts at it and gain 100 HP.

whoever told you its a "hit or miss" either does not know **** about the 8, or just making **** up out of his ***.

change the muffler bearing, its a common problem in the rx8. the stock muffler bearing is too restrictive, you need to open it up. Most people report dynos of over 200wtq with this
