Mazda Oem Coils are crap! BHR Ignition I guess.....

EDIT- I typed a lot of crap, but its not worth it because honestly, you matter not the slightest in my life. Bottom line, rather than prove your product has some merit and benefit, you chose instead to attempt to discredit MY character. Awesome way of doing business there Charles, hope that continues to work for you.

I know they did exist, but they do no longer, so telling me to go ask them anything was just kinda a stupid thing to do.
I do know people from Roar, and if I cared enough I would call them and ask them how they felt about the ignition and tuning, but honestly, I could care less. My cars run fine and we will be at Mid-Ohio in a few weeks to see if we have anythign for the turbo cars.

To throw in an opinion - I would much rather spend a little more money and get a product that I am confident in for its long lifespan than to buy a product (OEM) that I know will fail on me in the future. Quality > Quantity as another member stated.
That being said, my Ignition Kit will be ordered shortly, Charles. Thank you for your time and effort into the products you make for our community.

DANG! I blowed them up!
No one TOLD you to do anything. They are out of racing RX-8s because, unfortunately, it is very difficult to be competitive doing so.
You are so horrifically late to this game, which is why it makes your puerile demands for "proof" or data or anything so offensive.
It's like when a child covers their eyes and then believes that when they can't see anyone else, that no one can see them.

^ my basset hound does that.
My only comment reading the thread, is why, if he is so bent on finding any edge he can, hasn't he tested your coils? He only keeps stating that he is testing OEM and "aftermarket", which he defined as the autozone ones, which are the same as OEM.
Doesn't sound like he has actually tested different solutions, just different items of the same spec. Like buying [generic brake pads] x 30 and testing them all out to see if they are different.
But, I'm a non-racer and non-buyer, so my observations matter little.
I can still see my basset though.

Yes the FC and FD coils were more expensive but I'd rather have quality over quantity. U said Mazda backed down on the coils, so u agree with me that they are crap. I mean never have I seen coils that regularly fail around 30k miles and even earlier in some cases. Too me that's crap and even Mazda ended making 2 revised versions right? Yet, I hear the new ones still don't last much longer. Should I chance it or get something that is getting a lot of good reviews? I don't want to keep buying coils that isn't going to perform any better than stock, so I'm gonna upgrade. and get the better gas mileage, smoother idle & revs, slight increase in hp. It's a win situation getting an upgrade instead of losing money to replace coils.
coils does not fail (usually) at 30K, that's the recommended time to replace them. at 45K, I'm no surprised that your coil is giving weak spark.
I still don't understand you kept saying its expensive when I even told you its about 70 bux for all 4. Made in Japan. works just fine as stock.
You are ok with NGK plugs, why can't you get the same coil for 4 for around 70 bux or so ? Its the same Made in Japan deal.
I mean BHR is good stuff I'm sure about that, but for most folks, stock coils works perfectly fine. but hey its just my 0.02.

i'm not exactly sure this is the case, at least in Europa ( when you say people wants to pay things at lowest price possible ).
Here, in mazda's official dealers, 4 coils costs something around 700 $, must be 480 euors i think, depends of the values. The whole OEM ignition system is around 1600 $, + you have to pay the price for installing it, 130 $ each hour, and believe, it takes a lot of time for those "professionals" to install it... There's no shop in our country selling cheap OEM systems on the web, so most people just go to their mazda dealer and gets powned in the a.s with the price.... And they pay for it with a smile on their face, thinking it's quality's insurance.
if my mind, you have to see the price's reality in another way. Build a car with 100000 units selled in the world to get a simple number, 4 coils on it, get a cheaper price with their builder by lowering part's quality and win 10$ on each coil. You win one more million $. x4 , makes 4 millions dollars of benefits. Sell that ignition system at a crazy price in your official dealers, you win... No i don't wanna know how much more. And do it for each part of the car. Oops.
But the facts are that this system finds his limits in car's reliability, and that ignition system is not operating as he should, too weak, too fragile, lots of failures... We're the screwed ones in the end, this is a really expensive system and it's pure **** in my mind. And a new engine around here costs 13000 $ installed...
My engine died cause of that brilliant ignition failure oem system ( new kit died in ... 1500 kilometers, crap è_é ! ), friends of mine are running with MSD full system now and i choosed the same system, it sucks cause you have to create a whole new brackett and installation is really hard, but we did it and added an heat shield, nice improvment in the end, the ignition quality is just perfect with my custom remap and we're still running it, but it's not a good mod for standard owners, kits like BHR's one are way much easier to install and way better than OEM too, and you have more feedback with it, you'll spend better nights then...
As usual, sorry for my english ! :p

I must admit one thing, nobody in my memory around here had troubles with then stock ignition system of the car, i mean the first one installed in the factory.
We had lots of failures with the OEM we bought on the web, and really early ones sometimes, story of lines of productions i guess, i know mazda changed two times the series, the second ones were modified really quick in my mind, but this is really a speculative and personnal advice.

The coils that just failed on mine were factory original. '06, five years old, 42000 miles.
My wife's Toyota is 17 years old, 107,000 miles, still on original coils. When I disposed of my '87 Honda Accord last fall, at 210,000 miles, it was still on its original breaker points. I did replace the spark plugs occasionally, and the cap and wires once.

As I said in my first post, I'm now acting on it and ordering the BHR ignition system from Charles.
Thanks guys!
PS, my oem's only have 30K KILOMETERS (~18k miles) and they are COMPLETELY destroyed
EDIT: I'm also gonna check my cat. iirc, some 07's had a weak cat to begin with...

Factory set failed at 38k, replacement set failed after 16k, replacement set failed after 26k, on my 4th.
Wish I could get the BHR, but the failure points happened at really low fund times. It's on my list.

3 of the first factory set failed at around 15k miles, 2nd set started showing sign of weak coils at around 22k then got the BHR set in without changing plugs, car purrs like a kitten, meows like a cat when revved.

Why do people spout off nonsense but then refuse to test the very thing they're bitching about?
"most coils didn't show gains....we didn't test yours but we're sure they won't help any..."
Am I misreading that or? Whole thing seems confusing to me.
That's like saying "I hate fish, it tastes nasty, I've never tried it, but I know it tastes nasty"...
I guess it wouldn't be a BHR thread w/o somone trying to take a dump in it though
