About a month ago my first key Fob quit. I thought that it was the battery...so I checked it...It was OK. I replaced it anyway...still FUBAR'd.

Yesterday the second one went. Same thing..battery OK...doesn't work.

I tried re-programming them both...no response.

I reprogrammed a known good Fob from another car and it worked right away That was good news......

So I guess they are both dead

Phoned the dealer...new ones are close to $200 CDN.......crap

Going to have to look on E-bay or something

Anyone else have both of there Fob's quit??

 

they go bad all the time, not too much else to say about it

Ebay is your friend. Should be able to find two new(ish) ones for cheaper then dealer and you can sell your broken ones for a few bucks to people looking for cleaners cases or buttons.

 

How does one reprogram the new keys.. sorry if this is a silly question but my car only came with one key and I am worried.

 

You'll have to go to the dealer to get more keys if you only have one. However just remember to program one key or program 4 it should be the same price for Programming, Blades are per so in short...

Uncut Blade - $X per each
FOB - $X per each
Key Program = $X for all
FOB Program = they'd probably just do it, if not that is the easier of the two.

 

Don't go pay the stealership, search for my thread and there are instructions for reprogramming the FOB, it takes like 30 seconds tops.
