CA K&n typhoon v2 with RB air duct

Anyone have any pics? how is it working for you? how was the installation? im really thinking about doing this combo. I was going to get the revi intake, but a friend of mine gave me his k&n and replaced it with the AEM cai, so i'd like to try this first before going off and buying the revi intake.

its a good idea since the k&n isnt a true cold air intake. It sucks in hot air from the engine bay. The duct should flow air towards the filter and it should work better than the way the typhoon comes.

KN with RB duct defeats the purpose of the duct as you still suck in hat engine air.

I have this combo but I also built a plexiglass box around the filter so its sealed off from the engine bay. My IAT is about 5 degrees higher than ambient when moving. Measured via accessport.

wrong. my intake temp saids different. at least when it's moving.

honestly, the setup is not as bad as most people think it is. I had it so I know.

of course, it's as useless as most intake on the market, it does not give you any noticeable gain. Noise? sure, K&N is the loudest. AEM/Mazdaspeed Modest. Others ? Don't know.

so how well does the duct fit with the intake?

I'll snap some pictures later, or you can find some on the internet of it, but the duct doesn't come into the engine bay, it just takes the place of the VFAD unit. They don't touch each other at all, they're more of two separate items.

But in a nutshell the duct and intake work as intended and the two items don't interfere with the fitment of the other.

I'm working on making a plexiglass box that is fully sealed to the filter and the duct so it is a 100% true cold air intake. Right now I just have a plexiglass intake box that I made but it's not completely sealed from the engine bay.

If you're going this route baffle the filter and duct opening, otherwise you accomplish nothing.

Been busy at work and installing some suspension mods, still haven't gotten around to building the new box. I need to make a new airbox undertray as well so that I have a little more room to work with.

I'll snap a picture of what it looks like in its current state tomorrow, and come back with updates when I get around to building the rest of it.
