Calling Typhoon II owners
Has anyone done modifications to the K&N typhoon II? I've been thinking about making some sort of enclosure (possibly fiberglass), for additional heat sheilding, and hopefully for some sound deadening. Or, anyone modified the air inlet area, or remove the fresh air ducts? Maybe add a duct system like the RB one?
I like the intake in terms of appearance and tone, but it is a little loud for me at anything over 1/2 throttle, even at low rpm. It's even triggering rattles in my steering wheel/airbag area and dash it gets so loud.
I realize about everyone would recommend the RB Revi & duct, but I got a good deal on the Typhoon II and am interested in making it better for not much $$.
Any shared experiences or advice is appreciated.
