how are FI guys handling their octane requirements
Just a shout out---octane itself has been talked and talked about.
With our high compression rotors + boost naturally calling for increased octane requirments, I was wondering how others are dealing with it?
Are most people just tuning for lower octane pump gas of 91? 93? (which includes the ethanol of course) and can tuning be enough to cover the poor state of modern pump gas?
Or are some FI crazy folks using additives such as toluene.xylene or Torco (MMT)?
Are people that track their FI car adding race fuel/additives just for tracking or are you doing it for DD also?
How has been your experience in this matter, no problems?

Tuned on Sunoco 94 (Canada) I believe this is the same stuff that the U.S. gets. I've read that the fuel quality in the UK is considerably better along with a different Octane rating.

I'm aiming for 14.7 Stoic at idle and cruise not 14.1
I've not tracked the car in its current configuration.
The car is not a daily driver.
(Knock on wood) Car seems to be running fine so far, no problems.

Just pump gas + correct tuning...
At the track I always recommend blending several gallons of 100octane, just to be on the safe side
Having a turbine housing/wheel that actually allows the engine to breath helps a lot too....

agreed--track is a different animal. 100 octane unleaded/non oxygenated gas gets expensive, but it is cheaper than an engine.
Tuning this engine is an on going mystery to me. It doesnt respond to ignition timing changes like a recip does. That makes me wonder about using a/f's/timing changes in order to use a lower octane gas. I wonder if it is safe to do that?
Load really affects things in the rotary and in the higher gears ( 4th/5th) things get different? I dont know how to explain it.
So I have been over octaning ( is that a word) by a little on the days I know boost is going to be used.
