Gauges question.

Has anyone thought of a way to rewire our stock oil and temp gauges to be real oil pressure and water temperature?

We would first need to know the electrical specs of the gauges.
Next, we need to find the wires feeding the gauges; hopefully the ECU won't mind if the gauges "disappear" from it's control.
Then, we get a wire spliced into the oil pressure sending unit and water temp sensors, connect what ever resistors required to feed the gauges information they can read....

Do I have a prayer of this working?

Update:
What about adding water and oil pressure sensors?

I have the Racing Beat set of gauges and there are other options in regards to aftermarket gauges. As for the OEM ones the water temp is close to accurate, it is not a dummy gauge. The OEM oil pressure gauge however is just a YES/NO gauge and cannot be modified to read like an normal OP gauge.

Everything can be modified if you have enough time, knowledge and money.

I'd say it's really not worth it though. Just invest in a set of half decent gauges, anything out there will be better than the OEM ones.
