Fluid Change Intervals

When is the right time to change your brake and coolant fluids? In the manual is says to change the fluid at 60k miles then every 24 months after. Brake fluid I believe is also after 60k miles. The reason I'm asking is that I have a 2004 but with few miles, under 25k. Should I have the brake and coolant fluid changed soon?

You can wait to do the brake fluid replacement when you change your brake pads if you don't track the car or such. It should be a pretty sealed system so changing is not really necessary, if the car brakes!
Changing the coolant might be a good idea though since some coolants have a determined life.

Usually 2 years for coolant and brake fluid.....so you should change both...

The 06+ cars came with FL22 coolant..long life stuff...supposed to last 4 years?

Would you believe ten years? Then every five years after that.

Regular coolant is four years for the first change, then every two years.

Can you put FL22 coolant in a 2004? I'll think about changing the brake fluid myself and maybe putting on some SS lines. Any recomendations for brake fluid? I'll maybe be doing a few track events throughout the year.

for Brake fluid DO NOT GET DOT 5 OR 5.1 you will ruin things in ur brake system i.e. all rubber seals! A DOT 3 or 4 Synthetic is best for DD and tracking!

FL22 is green glycol antifreeze, pre-diluted to (I think) 55%. As long as your car has green antifreeze, you can use it. Don't if you've got orange. If you didn't start off with FL22, though, it's probably cheaper to buy name brand straight antifreeze and dilute it yourself.

Since you're going to do some track events, try browsing the competition forum for specific brands of brake fluid, and also for coolant recommendations.
