Dead clutch

This past weekend I was auto crossing my o5 8 and after a couple hard runs smoke poured from the tranni area of the car with that lovely smell of burning ceramic. She squeeled and stalled and moving her from gear to gear was next to imposible After some time i got her started the whole time i tried to get the clutch to engage for her to start she moved across the lot with every crank.
My question, is the exedy oem clutch my best option? Do I stick with that brand or are any of the off brands decent or just continue to take the bus to work until the oe clutch shows up ups? Any advice would be aprecieated.
I already sent my flywheel out to be machined. What are the chances I took out the clutch cylinder in this process?

OE clutch is best. BHR has a good price on it (about 1/4th the cost from a dealer). The Exedy Stage 1 is inexplicably unreliable when it comes to installation tolerances, and may be incompatible right out of the box, or fail far too early. My first Stage 1 only lasted 20,000 miles on the same (or easier) driving than my original factory that lasted 89k. My 2nd Stage 1 lasted 100 miles (no typo) of engagement problems, weird noises, and starting to shred before I swapped in an OEM clutch that worked perfectly the first time.

Other aftermarket clutches have variously reported mixed results as well. Some work stellar, some don't, many have inconsistent reports.

OEM is sufficient torque capacity for an N/A Renesis however, so it's your best bet.

Thanks for the feedback, I was wondering why the stage was was $20 cheaper than the OEM. Ive had several vehicles where ive upgraded clutches to keep up with the tourque and none of them felt as good as the the stock clutch in my 8. I also have to imagine that this is the 1st clutch replacement my vehical ever had (I baught her used) and I just recently passed the 100,000 mile mark on it.
