Hi everybody

Well I finally got my confirmation from Rachael that my Stage 1 pigggy back is on its way and have a question..

I've been running 87 Octane gas since last Dec 03 and the car runs fine, getting 20/21 MPG with no noticable power difference.

?Anyone done this, 87 and stage 1.

i thought the recomended fuel type was premium, thats all i run, its probably alot better for you engine.

Yes

I thought premium was best also, since Mazda recommends it. But after reading some of the posts on this forum, I went from 89 all the way back down to 87., and experincing no problems I.E.
Pinging or noticeable drop in performance/

87 is probably not such a good idea, given that your 8' is now 'a highly tuned' machine!

I have tried it with 89, with no obvious loss of power, but I am not at sea level......

well, maybe since the hp rating went down, maybe the compression ratio of 10:1 was a little streched too....
i ran 92+ octane booster in my 11.3:1 firebird engine..
