Crate motor and new ecu
Who would be willing to pay for someone to take a renesis block make the adapers so 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen Rx-7 owners could get added benfit of the renesis motor, added intake timing and less emissions. I think the renesis motor would be see the engine as a ported and would only need some black box to put in line with the ecu computer to make sure the timing and fuel was right for the amount of air. This is to say with out all the renesis intake related stuff, and with out a stand alone system. I think this would make at least 200 horsepower, and alot less emissions. Then older rx-7s and 200 horsepower versus a stock 146 or 160 is much better. Turbo guys would be able to make even more. Let me know what you guys think

One other thing I think this my cost 5,000 dollars verus the 10,000 or more it would cost to because you would have to a have the motor, renesis intake, Renesis computer and etc.... for it to run. I dont think rx-8 motor and etc... will be around in large numbers for probley at least 10 years. Unless you buy a Rx-8.

I just had wrist surgery - so the pics are slow to come. The chassis equipment is "in the mail"
Cage
Suspension
sleepy head lights
fiberglass hood
Meriah front bumper
etc.
I have found a few Renesis 13B's but have not finalized the deal. Should happen soon (ie - February).
I personally think that the swap is WAY too expensive for the average enthusiest. Making a swap "kit" of some sort would be silly. If there are 5 or more people- I would make duplicates of everything I do. Anything to offset the cost would be nice.

...should edit this so it doesn't turn into a huge flame war.
fine, you think it sucks, tell me your reasons, i'll say why they're dumb reasons to not like the engine, and everything'll be fine.

I dont know why you would really want the RENESIS since it plain sucks. Ur better off with the 13B in the FD3S... turbo charged and much faster...
I intend to make my FB fast by putting it on a diet - at this point, I am almost down to 2000lbs. It doesn't take much effort to make a 500hp FI Rotary by copying the work of others and buying bolt on kits.
I will use the FB project to test aftermarket RENESIS mods - in addition to my own before I install anything on my 8. Being 1000lbs lighter than an 8 and 850lbs lighter than an FD - it will be a quick car for sure.

Maybe he doesn't want to have to rebuild the motor every 60k or pop a seal during the tuning process because of one ping.

Holy Moly!!! A Renesis powered FB!! OMG!! That is a dream of mine. The FB has been my most favorite rotary powered car. The Renesis is the ultimate NA rotary. It's a dream come true. I will be following your progress closely. Maybe one day I'll try it. If I hit the lottery or something.

If I hit the lottery or something.
The cost est. is about $25k or so. including labor. With one available hand, the cost is doubled. If you do it all yourself, you would spend less than me.
Thanks 4 the support. My surgery has been way more taxing than I anticipated. I brought in one more person to help in an attempt to get it finished within about 5 months or so.
back to the medication............

$7k with accessories, like alternator, coils, ECU, injectors, etc. I am still searching for a better deal. I will need to have the engine in my hands in about 6 to 8 weeks if I am going to finish the project.
