haha. I think I finally understand what RX8 club is...its an ANTI-FORUM. The internet was designed to share info, accept for this place. This place is designed to waste your time searching for info that could easily be answered by members but who instead get a weird ego boost/power surge by withholding that information from people. haha...so phucking weird man....I mean whats the point of even using the forum then? To just sit back and act superior because you have info that others don't? hahaha oh man...thats just sad dude. The only reason I am here is to learn about the car I just bought...what a bunch of tools.

Honestly man...Im kind of seeing why people hate the RX8...I could never figure it out before but now I get it...its not the car they hate...its the douche bags who drive it! holy schit...I can't believe this is dawning on me right now...

I mean seriously though...what group of grown men take the time to NOT help people on an internet forum that they subscribe to, and religiously follow...hhaha I can't think of anything more pathetic. Why does such an awesome car have such a limp wristed community? and godfather avatar guy...don't delete this post...we need to discuss how this community is phucked from top to bottom by this "comic book man" from the simpsons type attitude.

Fernando, read this.

Imagine somebody coming here daily, in fact it is often multiple people daily, asking if not demanding the same information over and over again. We are not your on demand servants. We are people just like you with other priorities and demands in our lives, limited time, our own personal interests for being here, etc. Why should we spend that time catering to people that come here seeking instant gratification?

That leaves us with two options. We can either ignore you completely or we can tell that the info is here if you bother to make the effort. However, over several years of telling people this you eventually get fed up dealing with the continuous stream of people seeking instant gratification yet you still would rather point them in the right direction so you just bark at them to get the point across. Imagine someone coming to your house, going to your living room, pulling their pants down, and taking a dump right there on the carpet just because they didn't know any better. You might be annoyed and yet also understanding because they didn't know any better. Now imagine this being a different person doing this every day. It wouldn't be long before you just as soon they go away and never come back.

Almost every day there is some clueless dolt posting a tech or troubleshooting question in the DiY area, despite there being a sticky thread at the top saying to only post threads there with DIY instructions and subsequent discussion of same. The real issue is that people think they are free to just come here and do as they damn well please and there's no need for etiquette, rules, structure, or organization unless it serves their own personal interest.

Well guess what? We're not here to cater to new uninformed people that come in here trampling all over everything regardless if they're ignorant, just don't care, or whatever. This is like any social community and so if you make waves you better expect to deal with it. If you don't like it then get the f' out because the established community could care less about some newbie whining about not getting what they want immediately. We do care about you clogging up the search engine with useless threads on already established subjects, which there is a dedicated thread on this very subject in this same forum area no less. It took me 10 minutes to explain this. Now imagine multiple people daily requiring it, so you make a Sticky thread at the top that says "read this first" and yet every single new person just like yourself thinks they are beyond trying to fit in properly so that this forum operates smoothly for all of us.

You probably don't read Japanese, but the line in my sig is a well known Japanese proverb that reads "the nail that sticks out gets hammered". You made yourself that nail.

The information is here we aren't withholding anything from you. But you aren't searching properly and reading the sticky that says newbies read first. All your questions that you may ever ask are already here. Please search before asking anything. Like the best plugs for a grand touring. It doesn't matter grand touring or not. They are all the same. What may matter in some instances is auto or manual, as they are completely different engines. But if you have done your homework you already know this. But this question was already answered. Littersoffurry already gave you the link and I read it last night and boom, sure enough most answers on maintenance/modifications are already there. It also isn't that you are asking this one question, you have blown up our community last night with several questions that didn't need to be answered as they have already been answered, probably more than once but you didn't know this because you don't search. It isn't us that has the issue it's you. You don't have to be here and lots of us have had our 8 for years so don complain to us about our arrogance or whatever you may call it, instead Complain about your own laziness.

So.... What IS the best, most awesome oil? I need to change mine because I'm getting crappy mileage. What gas mpg does everyone else get? Oh, and I've got 105,000 miles. I know the 8yr / 100,000 mile warranty is expired but do u think Mazda will still cover my engine? I took it to the dealer but they had the audacity to ask for oil change receipts. I ain't got no time to be keeping receipts. Wtf man!!!??? Maybe I should just swap a S2 engine into my S1, that'll work, right? Or I could just swap in the 510c.i. Chevy out of the old motor home in the vacant lot next door. Anyone ever done that? Couldn't be more than like $500 bucks.

PS if none of that works, ive seen these chips on eBay...

It can seem that way. But you've been asking questions that would have answered themselves in just an hour or two of browsing stickies. I very rarely ask questions beause almost everything I've ever wondered about is already here.

You've been pretty cool in how you ask, but the place has been sensitized by people who clearly have a "My time is more valuable than yours...someone here do the work while I sit on my butt" attitude. And, believe it or not, the replies you got are way nicer than the treatment the real jerks get. nycgps didn't even think he needed to scold.

IMHO, people who get annoyed at a post should just ignore it. Besides being better for everyone's blood pressure, an un-stomped "noob question" post provides an opportunity for a newer member who's not yet burned out to pay back what they've learned.

That said, this forum has a lot of really good people and an amazing amount of information. Try browsing the DIY forum some time...it's practically a shop maunal unto itself.

Don't give up on the place. Just learn its culture. Rotaries are different...so why shouldn't rotary owners also be different?
