Hi, I tried searching, but I must be doing something wrong, I typed in "best oil" and nothing came up, then I tried just "oil" and it said no results were found, so if someone could help me with that, I'd appreciate it, also while I have your attention can I get some opinions on what the best oil for a stock rx would be?

As long as it pass the SL spec, it would be fine.

Name brand, SL or better, 5w20 if in the US or Canada.

Change it every 3000 miles or so. The best oil is oil that's been changed at proper intervals.

choose a brand that you like. as long as they have an A.P.I donut in the back of the bottle with a rating of SM(currently the highest grade rating) you should be fine.

and as for all the talk about synthetics... sure, go for it if you're feeling rich. it doesn't make too much difference... it would be worst to put a SL grade synthetic oil than using an SM grade ordinary oil. think about that one before choosing.

i like a few... mobile(honda oem supplier), quaker state, and recently started liking valvoline for finally finding a brand that has a straight weight conveniently available at a auto store. its really kinda retarded to offer multi-grade oil here in cali. why 10-30 when we never see those freezing kinds of temps?

but i switch off on brands when ever the price is cheap or on sale. its better to like many brands so you can take advantage of the hard work the engineers put in research on there brands of oil. and every brand has a closely guarded secret on the additives they use in their oil.

here's a tip:like gasoline, everyone likes a few gas stations. and at least gasoline contents can be researched if needed. and most popular rumors may be true of such gas. i.e. 76 feels stronger, chevron is cleaner( techron is good for injectors) and arco is dirty, etc. but formula's for oil is very secret. so no way to really tell what additives each uses in their oil. if you just go with what someone else tells you, then you are stupidly missing out the benefits other brands may hve.. so, switch up on oils occasionally, or use a bit of each. it can't hurt if you're at least using the same grades such as SM.
