So I replaced my transmission oil today with royal purple oil. I bought 2qts and filled the tranny but it didn't dribble or overflow. The capacity states 1.8qts so I should be okay right? Or should I go buy another qt and fill till it dribbles?

maybe stick your little finger in the fill hole and see if you can get any on you...

Winning 8, I assume you mean every 3k? My back end was slightly higher than my front when filling the oil. I drove it afterwards and seemed fine as the shifting was alot smoother. Maybe I'll go get another qt of rp and fill it till it drips.

 

Had the same issue. Tranny took 2.1 qts. Capacity is stated as an approximation according to the manual.

The car was dead level. Checked it with a level on the side body rails.

engin oil is 3k, tranny, diff and coolant is 30k

 

If I'm rich enough, I would do all fluid change every 3000 miles but I'm not.

 

Thanks for all your help guys. This morning I filled the tranny up untill it started to drip. Surpisingly I needed a extra .2 qts. I guess when I was draining the oil the back was higher I may have drained some extra oil. Hopfully I didn't harm the tranny when I took it for a spin with the .2 qts short. Anyways the royal purple is alot smoother than the redline oil that was in before, and I can chirp the tires now with my heavy 19's which I couldn't do before.

 

Royal Purple is awesome stuff! I did the tranny and differential about a month or two after I got my car...I'll never use anything else.

Glad you got that .2 quarts in there. I doubt it had any negative effects on the tranny though.

OUCH... that picture is making my headache even worse. Cool fish eye lens though.
