I don't understand.........you admit it is a dumb question and even say you are ready to be made fun of, but when you do get a little ribbing you get sensitive?

Anyway.......is the mechanic doing the install familiar with rotary engines?

What comes to my mind, considering I would never trust a traditional piston engine mechanic to tear apart and repair a rotary........does that also apply to installing a 13b as well?

Does a mechanic also have to be familiar with rotaries to drop a new 13b in an RX8?

and i just want to point out that i only drove the car for 3,000 before the motor went bad because i bought it used

so i dont look like a total dumbass....

Ah. I just read your sig. with the 110K miles. sorry to hear you're out of warranty. I would look up Paul at Mazmart on this forum. He can find you a good quality used motor for a good price.
