Air Conditioning Problem on new RX-8

I just got my RX-8 this past weekend and noticed that when I press the button for the A/C to direct to the face/feet locations, most of the air goes to the feet and barely any goes to the upper portion. When the A/C is set for face only, it is very strong. Should I take my car back to a dealership to see if it can be fixed or is it something easily remedied?

I always have it 100% face and I close the passenger side vent. Rarely do I need it higher than the second setting.

The AC units on the 8 isn't as strong as most cars out there. If you have it set to face/feet you won't feel much going to your face, I think this might have been intended for those with cold feet and want toastie feet w/ heater.

I'm really used to using top/bottom A/C most of the time... it sucks that it's so unbalanced in this otherwise well balanced car. I'm gonna take it to the dealership and see what they say. My feet get hot but I dont want to sweat up top just to cool my feet

it's normal and there's nothing they can do about it. I suppose you could find a way to constrict the air coming from the foot vents and that would increase output at the dash. The vents for the feet are just large and too close to the blower... so more air comes out of them

I've been thinking about this and in my mind it's to do with the a/c unit being small.

This would add to weight saving which is very common in the 8 - Compact engine (obviously), Very little if any sound insulation, aluminium hood, rear doors, no spare tyre etc.

I live in Ireland therefore I use the air conditiong very little but when I do use it, I just switch between face and feet whenever the mood strikes me!
