I'm new here, and have just bought a RX-8 and i'm living in HK

I have a very wrried question. My car is an 03 6 spds manual RX-8, As i know there are two types of Engine. the 250ps 6 ports and 210ps 4 ports mainly for Automatic transmittion.

However, i also read some posts on the internet saying that the 4 ports engine would comes along with the 6 speeds manual.. is that true?

If yes, how to distinguish which one is 6 ports engine which one is 4 ports?

Also i'm going to change the spark plugs on my car, its bone stock, what is the suggestion on the degree of them. Some people said 9degree for the upper 2 and 7 degree for the lower, what are u guys idea?

Second: Degree your sparkplugs? Might you mean "Index"?

Hello... if you are 6 speed, it shoud be 6 port...

Plugs, stock shud be fine...

 

yeah 6 speeds have 6 ports

 

Easiest way to tell if you're 6 port or 4 port is by looking at your tachometer.

9 K Redline. You have a 6 port.

anything else. you have a 4 port.

The differents is that, the last *2 port* found in the 6 port engine will ONLY OPEN above around 7250 rpm ~~~

So that MEANs, if you use your engine below that rpm, theres no differents between the 2 engine.
