Hi,

does anyone know, or has someone tried
to swap RX-8 gearboxes from 5 speed manual to 6 speed manual?

I have the standard European challenge (low power version 192hp), with 5 gears.

Would like to swap it for 6 speed, because would like to gave 6 speed and can get a 6 speed gearbox cheap, and i have 2nd gear grind when cold, and shift from 3rd to 4th has big rev drop.

So the question is can i change the gearboxes really easy?
Is it just bolt on?
or do I have to do some modifications or buy more parts?

Read somewhere that 6 speed gives better acceleration but has shorter final gear?
I have seen a few posts stating that a swap from AT to 6 speed is possible but not really easy.
Could not find the relatet post anywhere.
