Turbo or Supercharger

A supercharger like a roots at the power levels they desire (<300 fwhp) is inherently more reliable than a turbo anyday. It doesn't spin as fast and doesn't get as hot. The only thing manufacturers care about is meeting a power goal. If you can do it with a supercharger, it really doesn't matter how much more efficient a turbo is. That becomes an irrelevant subject. They could really care less about the aftermarket wanting to push it harder.
A supercharger does make it easier with emissions than with a turbo as the turbo does absorb heat. This doesn't mean it can't work as many others are doing it. take Subaru's approach for example. They run the cat before the turbo. It works. You just resize your turbo accordingly.
For ultimate power in a no holds bar designed system, I'd go with a turbo. For a street car that is sub 300 hp, a supercharger can work quite nicely. Especially when longterm reliability is required.

In my opinion, Turbo or supercharge is a waste of money because there are lots of upgrade needs to be done, etc, Supension, injectors and so...
You never know what u need next when the problems comes out after modification.
I guess inter-X is the final step for my automatic rx8 4 speed. Let the 150whp be it.
I read the previous post from the auto dyno without inter-X, how the heck was that true the stock dyno @ 120 whp around. I can confirm it now, its true! I recently have a chance to see the difference with a stock Mazda 3. Rolling start was the same but red light and starting in result got smoked.
A bit off topic but if I have 5k to go, I traded in for manual!

120whp is like an 150HP car. Mazda would be sued up and down, thats way beyond statistical error.
~160whp would be in the ~200HP range and consistent with Mazda claims and what I've seen (my car included).
+50HP from a supercharger or turbo, would still make for a bit faster car... Automatic or manual. An ~210whp to ~230whp Auto ( ~275HP crank) would not be something to thumb your nose at.

and what do you mean by "red light and starting in result got smoked"? How do you start in result?
Doesn't a result, by definition, occur after something is started? If you start at the result, where do you go?
I have read this exact post in two different topics and it seriously hurts my head...
