Cobb AP for the A/T
The initial map is just as simple as Easy pointed out. When you buy the AP from MM he sends some maps with it based upon your mods (if any) and really simple instructions. Load a program on your lap top, down load the maps off the internet and into the AP and then into your car.

The AP doesn't care about octane (neither does the Int-X for that matter).
Its the motor.
So, if you make 20 more HP on 87, the AP can do the same.
I'd like to see those dyno plots, however.
If they weren't on the same day on the same dyno, they are probably meaningless.
My car can vary more than 20 HP from day to day on the same dyno.

Right now on the car i have a green drop in air filter, rb exhaust, mazsport ignition solution. I would like to buy an AP for my 2004 4 port RX8. Also is there anyway to get better MPG? I average around 20 right now without the int-x installed
[QUOTE=MazdaManiac;2438708]Not at this time.
The most annoying thing about the tranny is the fact that it wont let you down shift from 2nd to 1st until you are at 25 mph ANNOYING AS HELL
and the fact that if you are at 70 - 80 you can't down shift to 2nd from 3rd or 4th until you are at 65 mph. The tranny limitations on that car are REDICULOUS!! and its not like its trying to protect the car...there would still be a good 3,000 rpms before you could shift again...I cant wait unil someone makes a good product that gets rid of that. then the car would be a blast to drive.

I can down shift from 3rd to 2nd at 70 mph. And from 2nd to 1st at 30 mph.
I know what you mean, it's a pain in the butt. Especially 2nd to 1st.
Yeah, i think people look at me stupid when I autocross because I'm not down shifting.
20WHP is promising for the 4 port AT , MazdaManiac, may I please know where can I get the payment instruction?
Can you pre-load the AP before shipping it out?
Or do I have to go to the website and d/l it?
Thanks

I'm not sure if it's possible to mess with the TCM with the Cobb AP but if it is, Jeff will figure it out.
I'm only stirring the pot about the TCM, because if the MIL can be masked with the AP. I wonder if a tranny swap is doable.
I have the turbo off awaiting a oil restrictor. in the meantime I looked into the exhaust ports and have a very nice tan color!! White pipes!

^wowzers - that's significantly different than mine
1st: 25mph @ 7500
2nd - not sure
3rd: 80mph @ 7500
4th: 125mph @ 7500
5th: topped @ ~129mph (slight decline)
6th: Not sure, never had that much road
jeez...now that i look at it, my 2nd gear is almost non-exsistant(sp)?

A tranny swap i dont know but upgrading your stock tranny is. The guys at level ten rebuilt my tranny with there custom made parts. My trany can handle 1000hp. also have a nice warranty too.
You have much closer ratios than we do. Your first gear is shorter. Should give you better acceleration than we have.
With the 4 speed and 4.77 gear, I top out here:
1st - 40 mph
2nd - 70 mph
3rd - 110 mph
4th - haven't had the *****/stupidity to figure it out. Maybe if I ever go to Road America, but even there I doubt it...
Anyway, sorry for the threadjack - just wanted to put in my two cents on the gear stuff.
