More likely that the floor needs an extension for increased pedal travel. I'm pretty sure Easy has it mashed almost all the time!

I do think I found it Phil. The car pulls a lot stronger above 6000 with this straight pipe on it. Now just have to verify with the numbers. Then I'm going to the dealer and say "Where's my new catalytic converter".
We'll try and get the numbers up asap. Patience my friend.
I did kick *** on three RX-8's in Autocross yesteray. Not to name any names,,,,, MM, Flashwing and AZlizard.

Thanks. Rub it in.
Seriously though - I really need to learn how to drive.
At least I didn't *****-foot my way around the track this time like I did the last.
I certainly would have picked up 2 seconds if I just didn't get lost every time.
That said, I am still loosing 2 - 4 seconds because of bad technique.
I've gotta find a way to practice this kind of stuff without getting arrested...

Thinking? There was no time to think. Really, I felt blind out there.
It was like, as soon as I got around the giant "U"-turn at the beginning, I passed out!
By the time I realized it, I was in that compound turn in the middle that sent me off track half the time.
I felt like I was just not actually there.
At least I kept standing on it this time, as opposed to the last where I went into Sunday-drive mode.
Brain damage, I guess.

Well yesterdays dyno time turned out to show no gains with the mid-pipe.
OK 2 hp.
Still I ponder how Mazda can say that a 4 port AT can have 197 hp at the flywheel and only put down 126 hp at the tires. I'm loosing 71 hp through the drive train?
At this point in time I give up.

This was done with out using the AP last night. No AP tuning was involved so don't go thinking the AP wont work, it will. I'm still going to get one.

I'm glad you added that last statement about not having the AP on you vehicle yet. Wait until the end of the Cali dyno meet and let's see what the baseline for an a/t is and then what a AP can do. Mine was pretty miserable stock also - don't let it get you down.

I'm dying to hear how 09Factor ended up. What were his final torque figures?

With the AP tuning OH Masterfull MazdaManiac preformed yesterday, Hp was 182 and tq was 185. All of this was at 5 psi. This time around the numbers and curves were very consistant... The last dyno run had a graph that looked like a duck.

When we went to up the boost, highest it got was 6.5 psi. so either the cat holding it back ( same cat as last time), the WG actuator has finially failed, or something else.

Althought the #'s appear low, well only the Tq #, the AFR's in boost dead on @ 11.2. no wavering, and no going leaner the higher up in the rpm's.

Now just have to fix the boost issue.

At least you know where you're at now. Get rid of your cat and get the boost up higher and I think then we will see some significant numbers. Glad to here AFR's are dead on under boost. Jeff told me his first concern is returning our cars to stock like driveablility and then he will look for HP & TQ. My guess that he will find it all.

Thats what we were going for yesterday. So Jeff did his proof of concept and it passed!

Is that the RP Supercat, or the stock cat? I thought you told me you had put the RP on, but I have a terrible memory so I'm not sure...

damn Easy, sucks that your HP is still completely missing. We do lose a shitload of hp between crank and wheels but that sounds like too much.

The way 09Factors was tuning up it was about 10 hp for every 1lb of boost. That would be some good numbers with 9 psi of boost.
As far as mine goes, It shows the same curves as 09Factors when compared side by side. My peak torque came on about 500 rpm higher then his. One consulation is it kept pulling after the 5700 rpm dip, it went back up. It didn't do that with the stock cat on there. What is going on at that rpm point no one knows for sure.

cobb ap

So how good is the cobb ap for the NA cars is it better than the int x? Ive heard bad things about the int x. Does the ap give you at least 10whp? Im not looking to make the car stupid fast or anything or ever do forced induction just get rid of the ecu and engine restriction that is robbing that poor car of power. By the way new to the forum guys but iv'e been reading alot.

The AP is the best tuning device available to date. Much better than the Inter-X. It does amazing things. And yes it should give you 10+ hp.
