#1 Reason to own an AT
I feel sorry for you if you don't have to work for your modifications. If your parents just buy them for you...I feel very bad for you. You don't know the feeling of pride that comes over you after you finally have enough to buy it and you install it.
You just see the parts come in and then you have someone put them on and you don't need to pay a dime. You take your car for granted and abuse it (from what you've been saying).
I take pride in my car, as it is stock right now, I'm looking into buying myself an exhaust system for Christmas. Granted my girlfriend's Uggs don't cost me my leg. And I'm going to be proud of my achievement. Now one thing I notice...is people who respect and are proud of their car. And the people who take their car for granted.
And seriously, you don't need the Brembo Brakes. I think you want them just because you can brag about it to your high school friends. "Yeah dude I got Brembos". You do most of your time driving on the street...if you were pushing...350hp to the wheels and you track drove every weekend, by all means go for it. Just take your dad's 2,000 and invest it on the stock market. Maybe you'll begin making your own money and not rely on mommy and daddy

Not me - I wish my parents had been wealthy and spoiled me. Hell I wish I'd had money when my kids were young so I could have spoiled them - I'm working on spoiling my grand kids and now a great grand daughter. It should be fun
Grandpa bought them quads for Christmas last year - thinking of jet skis this year but not sure how far to go with the oldest grandson cuz he now has a family - My daughter in law hates me!! My Grandson's wife thinks I'm half a bubble off cuz I don't act my age. God ain't it fun. Getting even for all the heartache my kids gave me. I think I'll stop with the oldest grandson and figure how I can spoil the great grand daughter - Love to live long enough to see what grief I cause him.
Chet, who's this guy and who he talking to?? Is he a friend of yours?

The point is I didn't have an extra $4,000 to buy the manual. So I bought the step below it. The 6 spd Auto, I still got the bigger engine
Okay, last i heard it was like 27, but you guys know more about them than i do. I bought my 6 speed because i always feel like if i dont buy the biggest motor i can then their is no reason to own the car. You know, like how buying a V6 in a mustang is flat out stupid. Obviously the 8 isnt in that category but i hope you can relate to where im coming from.

I see what you're saying, but...not everyone can afford the 27,000. Mine was 24,000 and I was hitting 600 dollars a month...I'm pushing it as it is. I got all the same goodies a manual does, just 20 hp less. That's not that hard to make up
Yeah, i bought mine used so i could get what i wanted at the same price. I will never buy a brand new car. You can save more money that way. My car had 19k on it when i bought it, but i saved about 10k at least that way. Might think about that when you get another car.

I bought mine brand new. AND I bought the extended warranty so I never have to pay for something that breaks, leaks, or fails. I'm in college and I need something dependable. Granted used RX8's are probably just as good. You just don't know if they were abused and taken care of properly
Not bashing anyone here but a lot of used sports cars are bought by old men going through a mid life and therefore are only driven 45 mph in the slow lane. Granted, you may get one that someone ragged it out before having to sell it, but i think its not as likely. Also, from what i heard from the mazda mechanic, you should drive the **** out of it to keep it in good working order. I tend to keep his advice.

Curious, I thought the two countries were mortal enemies? or does money talk here?
