I have been running my GT3071R without my methanol kit since a few weeks after installing the turbo last October. I pulled the fuse and took out the tank after the discussion about how it causes more harm than good. This summer has been pretty hot averaging temps in the 80s and high 90s and I have not been gentle on the boost either. I normally spike from 12 to 14ish psi in the midrange and it tapers off to 9-10psi when the aux port opens peaking (seeing g/s peaks of 350 to 360s).

MM tune, zero problems.

I've been away from here for far too long and i'm ready to get back into it. The car still has not been driven since the blown motor and i am now living in Nebraska.

Anyone have any recommendation of how i can get my car back up and running?

I've already PMed Turblown. CRH interested in helping me out?

Cool. Is he doing the rebuild? Did you ever tear down the motor? Glad to see you back bro, I just finished up my engine/turbo install last night.

We're still not sure what is going to happen until he has the car and can check it over more. The engine was tore down at one point and there were some pics earlier in the thread. The car has just not been driveable since then.

Ah so it was a bad rebuild then. By not drivable what do you mean? Is it still running pig rich? Did you check all the injector wiring, etc?

not sure it was a bad rebuild, but it is a possiblity. The car is able to start and idle perfectly but when i shift out of park it will stall and flood the engine. last time i was with Kane he said it smelled rich when we let it idle. It will also stall and flood if i raise the RPM and let it come back down by itself it will drop too low.

I haven't really checked the injector wiring. What would i be looking for?

Hmm, if it idles fine then I doubt it's a bad rebuild. The injectors harnesses could have been plugged in wrong. Give me a minute to find the diagram.

Yeah but you have a four port so I'm still looking that up.

It has a 4 port pic on the injector removal and installation. there's no colors though. seems kinda difficult to switch the lines coming in and out of the fuel rails. the injectors could possibly be in the wrong spots.

So if you let the car idle it eventually dies? Anyway you can post up the STFT and LTFT % at idle?

So it will idle up to temp with no issues? So you can't uninstall your Cobb either? You are going to need to get that sorted if there is currently a Cobb map on your car.

yes and yes.

If i have turblown work on it i will most likely switch to the adaptronic. he said there shouldn't be any problem uninstalling it later. i just have to send it back to Cobb so they can fix the screen. I got the dead screen issue.

look what i found. a loose bolt down there on the front of the motor. might explain the oil leak.

Dude, don't mess with that Adaptronic, the Cobb works fine for much less money. If you are going to think about using the Adaptronic at least wait until they can show one being used successfully on a turbo RX-8. The jury is still out on Turblown as far as I am concerned, my experience with them for my turbo upgrade was lack luster. The customer service was good but the end result was unsatisfactory and I had to pay another shop to make things right.

I will be installing one of their low mount kits soon though and it looks promising but we shall see how it pans out. As for the top mount kits, I have yet to see any info on an RX-8 that has ran it successfully and reliably for any decent amount of time.

I also checked my injectors. i have blue ones on the manifold side and red/orange ones on the motor side. I didn't check the wiring yet. i don't want to take the intake manifold off right now.

That bolt would more likely leak coolant
