FWIW - I see egts via OBD at 1745 F on a boosted run to 8k at similar boost levels to you .
Even if this was not accurate as MM suggests it would at least give a good comparison of before and after .
wait a minute, you see that high?

this is mine ( Using EGT Digital by Autometer COBALT) hooked up into teh manifold:
cruising:
5 gear - 4 - 5 K = 1240 - 1260 ..
6 gear , 4 - 5 k = 1260.....stays...

what do you mean by back to back runs? with and without while boosting?

Yes I see that high - but this is OBD and maybe not accurate - don't know .
Have not tested cruiseing - that number was peak .

You do a (boosted)run with W/M operating and measure EGTs - then you turn off the W/M and do another run measuring EGTs . That way we can see what the difference is .
Also what ccs are you running ?

here is what mine looks like without w/m from 3500rpm in 2nd through to about 7000rpm in 5th. Boost is 10psi tapering down to 7.5psi at 8000 .
Temp in Celcius

I'm willing to wager that most if not all of you are using inadequate EGT probes and meters.

If an FI car doesn't see at least 1600°F at the ports, you have a gauging issue.

I dont know why i was thinking he was at 2KF.
Peripheral port engine can see 2K but the rx8 in na form is suppose to be around 1600F--right?
Hey--this hat looks good on me for some reason?

sorry to bump such an old thread but i was curious how much water/meth is injected per gallon of fuel? i.e. how many times would you have to refill a 1gallon or 5gallon reservoir per fuel up? I'm assuming it'll be heavily affected by the tune but I'm just wondering in general here...

I am no expert here but isn't EGT all relative anyway? Doesn't really matter how far from the port or what your numbers are as long as you can recognize an unsafe rise in temp?
