Ok folks, I'm very sorry it has taken me so long to write and tell you all how amazing the kit is but I think Jeff sums it up; not to mention that kind of praise coming from him has more impact. Right now I have to keep the car under 6k and am running only 7lbs of boost. The car feels stock as far as drivablity, no stalling at all, no weird readings from the maf, afr's are pretty solid for an incomplete tune and boost comes on really quick, not as fast as a greddy but still pretty damn fast. I'll be able to post some more pictures when I get home, yup, I'm out of town again, but expect something saturday. Right now I'm sitting on an airplane in chicago waiting to take off, for the last four hours....

How long do you think a wide band o2 sensor will last pre turbine?

The OE WBO2S sits in 1600° exhaust in its natural state.
Mine has been looking at 1800° most of its 130,000 mile life.

BTW - it is not the sensor that is sensitive to temperature, it is the heater control circuit.
A good controller will maintain even a cheap sensor (Bosch, NTK, etc.) for virtually forever.

The Denso sensor in the RX-8 is pretty robust (and very expensive).

1300?? wow thats insane. I dont know the accuracy of the OE sensor in the cat, but i have regularly read 900-950C(1650-1740F) from the CANbus and have seen higher. This is stock motor, NA with a solid tune

Remember folks we are talking about moving the STOCK wideband. The time it takes the exhaust gases to reach the sensor in closed loop operation is just too long. We were seeing fuel trims sweeping the full 50 point range. You can have your aftermarket where ever the hell you please, you are not going to notice the extra couple of miliseconds of lag time. The car however does.

Exactly. I know when Turblown put the WBO2S in my system, it was more than 18in. It was near the rear of the DP. That distance is more like 5 1/2 - 6 ft.

So thank you for finding this cool little quirk out for us custom turbo owners.

It was a pretty good bit of mental gymnastics to put that together.

After we got the other problems sorted out, I think I spent at least an hour pondering the fuel trims. The sensor position pre/post was discussed before Tim was given the nod to position the new bung.
I just felt that putting it post on the SFR kit would be too close to the edge of a reasonable distance from the ports.
On a low-mount system, the DP is plenty close.

Requested Pics

You can also see the relocated O2 bung here, no wire splicing was required to relocate the sensor.

That settles it, I'm moving my O2 when I find the time. I've been suspicious of this from the start. My build is very similar to the SFR and my O2 is at the bottom of the downpipe near where the midpipe would meet the stock manifold.

Anytime guys

Also on another note; we have the tuning done for the most part but we are now just waiting for a time where I'm in town, Jeff is in town and the dyno is avalible so we can get on that baby and put down some numbers. The car is running very very strong and feels amazing, well worth all of the work

Just saw the installed pics - that is one very sweet looking setup man . Look forward to seeing what numbers you can produce .

One thing I don't like is the intercooler placement - putting the IC in front of the Rad like that really does kill any chance of having an efficient cooling system . Mounting the IC 3-4" higher makes a huge difference . Then you just need to cut the diamonds oput of the grill to get air through the IC

SFR -- the site still says "W/ EMS and Injectors (+ $1,299.99)." Is that an accurate price for the AP tuned by MM or is that for the old tuning system? I seem to remember APs being very reasonably priced nowadays.

This kit tuned by MM via AP seriously looks ridiculous -- this is certainly my choice when the time to go turbo comes. Looking forward to updates / videos / dyno charts.
