Agreed. The exhaust heat alone limits our turbo selectionbut It is good to see innovation in the industry as a whole.

OK, round two.

What about this? running all gases in one hole at low RPM, to get velocity up early, then open for the other as RPM increase. And yes, we would need at WG on top of this.

I'm thinking its so simple, that someone MUST have thought of this before. When WG can take the exhaust heat, it should be possible to have a valve here that can work as well - or?

Great idea but would not be proper on a renny without the full separation of the middle exhaust port.

Why not? I think you maybe misunderstood my point, Im not thinking about the traditional advantages by twin scroll(divided headers), Im thinking about getting up velocity at lower RPM.

Why would you think of using a twin scroll if not using it for its primary function over any other turbo. Sounds like your goal would be better acheaved with a proper sized turbo.

Yeah that is how you use a quick spool valve in a piston application. Non-divided manifold with a QS valve and a divided turbine housing. Should work as intended.

btw, I fabricated and installed my own quick spool valve on my top mount setup. very noticeable difference...

Exactly. And from what Mr.Koenigsegg is saying, this should be beneficial, even though separate headers isn't possible

Mazda have done it: TurboRX7.com > Rotary Engine History, 2/3 down, Twin-Scroll Turbo.

Then I'm at least not stupid - only a bit slow

I guess the biggest problem would be fitting it to a low mount? And maybe getting a turbo replacement for that fits AND have twin scroll.

Fazda, do you have a twin scroll turbo? Or do you just increase exhaust velocity? Any dynos?

My system has always been a twin scroll, T4 just different sizes, started with a 1.0 then .84, now .84 with quickspool valve.

no dyno yet, but I have old logs and new logs

That is not a twin scroll system. Just because the turbine housing is divided does not mean it is twin scroll, you need a divided manifold. Using a divided turbine housing with a single scroll manifold and a quick spool valve doesn't count either.

Acura rdx turbo is way cheaper - also related to the mitsu ihi series which makes me wonder what the upgrade possiblities are .... you can prob nake a low mount if you are willong to sacrifice some passenger leg room

Dunno how practical low mount would be. QS is best fitted to larger turbos, not smaller ones. One of the big issues with big turbos is melting the exhaust ports. Top mount reduces heat build-up in the ports, allowing for more power with (slightly) fewer heat issues in and around the block. QS in a top mount setup like Fazdas sounds near ideal.
