thanks for the clarification!

IF any does, it's surely not optimal for the longevity of the renny.

Done properly, the piping should clear the OMP and allow it to remain. I would also venture to guess that the APV motor is gone and the APV's are locked open as well.

Fixing that car properly would cost a few grand as is and there is still a lot you don't know. Buying a used turbo RX8 with little knowledge on the subject is just a very bad idea man.
Just curious... why does relocating the OMP cause it to malfunction?

It doesn't necessarily but if the position sensor gets out of whack then it can cause the ECU to put the car in limp mode. The biggest issue with it being relocated is the fact that is not doing what it was designed to do.

Right, but it has to survive for a period of time, else what is the point of using it at all?

What do you mean? What is the point of using the oil metering pump at all? You don't really have a choice, if it is not plugged in, the car will run in limp mode. And with it relocated like that, the oil injectors have to be gone and the holes in the housing plugged so there is no cooling or lubrication happening to the side seals/corner seals.

I was referring to premix, not oil. See the last two posts on page 1 of this thread.

Should the OMP work correctly even when it's relocated? I would think it would only malfunction if it was damaged.

I'm confused and I suppose I just can't tell that well from the pictures. If the OMP is completely disconnected, as in there are no oil lines running to the injection nozzles, why is the OMP hooked up and in the engine bay in the first place? Just so its hooked up electrically as not to throw a CEL and the subsequent limp mode?
