Excessive? Nah.
As for boost, I'll go as high as I feel is safe and practical given the feedback I receive from the motor during the tuning process. (EGT, knock, AFR, est. CCP, etc.)

Right, upwards of around 500whp is where I need to be at for 200mph at The Texas Mile...among other factors that I'm currently addressing such as safety equip., suspension, aero, gearing, etc...

Some under car paneling to reduce drag and lift would help.

nice bro--nice. Big guns.
500hp on a side port engine?
Since you are doing the Flying mile only--then you are not really worried about lag? right?
Little hint if you can use it-----the underpanels from the S2 models do a hell of a good job smoothing out the underneath airflow. The 09 front end was actually designed to not have any lift at high speeds (we can thank Speed Source for their input on this)
The front undertray also has a built in half circle "spoiler" to cause a low pressure point to help evacuate the engine bay heat.
An auto 3.3 rear end and the S2 trans with the taller 6th gear should allow you to get where you want to go?
redlining at around 8K----- i hope?

I always thought the 09 front end looked a lot like the Mazdaspeed front bumper.
