I went with the SSQV only because it's what the original PTP kit used. I don't have a sound clip or video, but it sounds similar to what is in the video above, looks like it was a fun day by the way Except mine is pretty quiet because it's recirc'd.

I have tried to use this one on other setups I have put together for others based of request but I did not like drivability so I pulled them without giving the owners a choice lol. Always havr been really happy with authentic hks

design looks hard to recirculate. I do like the sound though. Pretty much anything recirculated is so quiet. That's why I want the type-s

It is hard to recirculate as they don't make a recirc kit for it but I've ran it vented on my old cars and sounds so awesome and had no problems at all.

I don't mind, it's educational for me to know people's thoughts and experience with BOVs. I only picked the HKS because it's what originally came with the kit. But sounds like it's bit a bad choice, tho there could be some better ones. I've been happy with it, but then again I have nothing else to compare to.

as long as you don't have part throttle issues, and drivability issues you should be fine. after being in your car I say its working just fine!

we should pic a good day and take some proper photos with my canon!

A pic day would be great! Wish today was the weekend, it's beautiful sunny today!

The only issue I have with the bov is if I let off the throttle quick after boost I get a backfire, even recirc'd, but I've learned to cope with the clutch.

Could be, but I don't know how I would alter this. Throttle closed = idle, no? but my idle is perfect. I was thinking maybe it had to do with the way it's plumbed.

I understand why it's happening. MAF reads air mass entering and signals injectors to dump in fuel. Throttle plate closes and air that was metered is bypassed back pre throttle plate so fuel entering without the air, doesn't burn in chamber, collects in tail pipe - pop. It's worse if vented to atmosphere. But how to find tune the last little bit

Mine sometimes backfires but only when I wind it out to redline , do a quick gearchange and then straight back on the throttle. Never does it any other time .
I think it's a good thing ...... sounds mean ! I'm disappointed when it doesn't happen .

Are you saying you get it on every gearchange Slash ?

Pretty much same as what you describe, with the addition of letting go of the throttle after being in boost without using the clutch. So if I floor it then let off the throttle without pushing the clutch pedal in I get a pretty good pop. I am not worried about it, it's not bothersome. Just got curious about it being tune related. It's more an academic exercise for me. I think it probably has to do with the length of intake piping between the MAF and throttle plate. There is a long column of air there that in my mind equates to a delay between when the TP is closed and when the MAF actually sees less air. I don't know that this is really addressable without shortening the distance between MAF and TP. But that's just my feeble attempt to work it out in my head

I don't get that happen at all . But one time i was on the motorway sitting at around 5500rpm lightly on and off the throttle (ready to floor it ) when all of a sudden i got a massive backfire . I mean the whole car shook ! I was expecting to find my muffler in pieces but it somehow survived.

I think what you are describing would be a PIA . How far past the maf does your BOV recirc tube enter the intake?
