RWD+LSD=Zoom gets THE BOOST
You could do Brettus' mod to your wastegate actuator; shorten the arm by twisting the end of the arm on the threads until it is so short it keeps the wastegate shut. Not sure how hard this is on the actuator but if you actually take the nut off of the arm and completely shorten it you would have to pull on the actuator arm to even attach it to the internal wastegate leaving no room for it to be blown open by exhaust back pressure
If disconnected, it fails open.
In order to close it, you should really consider welding it, no matter how much you tighten that arm it will not be 100% leak proof. Another option is to build an arm from the wg to the actuator braket and just not install it on the actuator, hard install it somewhere.

I am thinking for the time being I will just use a blockoff plate on the external wastegate port and just use the internal. If I ever get around to it I think I would want a better external wastegate then the one I have anyway.

ok so I have decided that I am going to block off the external and just run the internal. The only problem I have is that the the actuator arm for the internal is missing the clip deal thing that keeps it attatched to dump flap. Any clue where to replace this and what its actually called?
the welders ground everything out on the manifold and rewelded with Nickle rod. I will post some new pics of the manifold later this evening.

I like the idea of external but there are a few things that are holding me back from using it.
1. it would be super loud and thats not what I am looking for with a stock greddy turbo kit
2. having the internal wastegate there makes me worried about keeping it shut
3. the wastegate itself ends up sitting very low under the car. I can see where the previous owner had already scrapped the wastegate slightly. I am lowered as is and would rather not have such an important part of the kit that vulnerable to damage.

Good Choice; as far as im concerned that external looks to be in rough shape and the GReddy internal doesn't really have any issues with it.... mainly just actuator sizing issues for people trying to push more boost

I went ahead and modified the brackets for the front mount and pushed it slightly further away from the intake filter, leaving about 2-3cm between the fins and the filter, and straightened it out so it is more up and down. Air flow should be good as well. I will have to snap a few pics.
I made sure the actuator arm was tight and secure (no shaft play at all, very stiff)
Ok so I read through that. Currently my wastegate actuator has zero play in it. Its very tight when all hooked up. I will have to check where the lock nut is and how far down the threads it is. I want to say that it is not all the way wound in.
After reading your thread I began to get a little concerned with how tight my actuator feels.

hahaha.... and the worst part is if your like me you'll read them all and then get so confused with all the different things you want to do then forget about half of them....
