My wallet thanks me for how I planned this out. I could have easily splurged on parts that I may not have needed and I am glad I spent the time doing loads of research.... Now I have money for when the engine needs a rebuild
On the turbo kit alone I am close to that. I spent a lot on the engine replacement and additional items related to that though.

I had several expenses out side of the turbo build that set me back as well (solenoid valves, power steering issues, fuel pump, ignition) so if I were to calculate how much I spent on the car this year........

I have to say, that if it werent for friends and members of the 8club, there is no way I would have come close to being under 6k for the kit alone.

Yeah I got a great deal on my kit and it if weren't for close friends and my GF I would not have been able to do it. I have replaced many things while my car has been down and I got my new calipers yesterday so those need to go on as well.

I am almost there, I just got stalled last night by not having a 20mm stubby wrench. Once I get that today and tighten my drain line fitting I will be ready to rock and roll.

Kane and I are working on the tune so I haven't been able to really lay into boost yet

But I am determined to have a strong, well developed tune. I am learning on the fly but I am a good grasshopper and the teacher is superb.

so far things are going well. Car idles better than it did before the install. Starting to fine tune boost. I think we have a great tune going so far.

I will have much more to report once I can really get into boost.

I really need to work on the oil return line. It leaks a tad bit. Will be doing an oil change real soon so I will be under the car and able to check things out.

Is anyone else running a high pressure low flex vacuum line? I have been thinking of switching to them in order to get more accurate vacuum pressure. Several things that I could see good advantages here would be with Boost controller and blow off valve.

Thoughts from those that care?

You know, finding good vacuum hose locally has been tough. I got some silicone stuff online and it is too flimsy. Then I got some vacuum/fuel line and it is too flimsy. I finally found some good emissions specific hose but then they only sold it in larger hoses. So, I will have to break down and get some hose from Parker hose but it will be expensive. Where are you looking at buying this from?

I am looking for a flex forming vacuum hose. If anyone knows where to find a product like this please let me know.

If you want it for cosmetic reasons ..fine . Otherwise I can't see it doing anything beneficial .

You might get some benefit from going bigger if it is your BOV actuation you are worried about .

There is a local sti guy that lives near me that has those vacuum lines on his car. Man do they look really well done. Form fitted to his engine bay. no forced turns in the lines and no stressed turns with possible wall crushing. Plus they are shinny. Very OEM looking

i've seen the vac lines in person. they are amazing quality.

I remember seeing hose candy in a magazine. I cant use the quick disconnects with most of my connections. Wastegate actuator is a solid piece so you cant change the vacuum bung and want to say that the HKS ssq is the same way too. Also, my prosport boost solenoid is plastic so you cant change the fitting on that either.

they have the heat gun shrinkable clamps that fits the hose to the fitting. then you add the quick connect if you ever need to disconnect the line for some reason. Sick system and looks damn good.
