RMT Renesis?

Has anyone tried to rear mount turbo a renesis? Is there enough space back there?
It's been done on many cars before, it's very easy to do with very few trade-offs..just wondering if someone has tried. If so, pics?

No one has done it because the car would handle like ****... the best way for the engine to be mounted is the way it is from the factory... from the factory and the position the engine is the RX-8 has a 50/50 weight distribution...

Not the engine, the turbo.
Imagine a turbo in place of a muffler, you get the idea.

its not that easy. im about to complete mine.
unless you have time and $$$ and a 2nd vehicle its better to buy a kit like sfr/ptp or mms upgrade.

Mind if I offer some advice?
You don't need an intercooler when you're running an RMT turbo
My buddy did it to his GK, he's running 130* intake temp when the weather is 100 degrees.
I would suggest intercooler piping that is sold on frozenboost.com, they have fins that dissipate heat much quicker.

i plan on running 8-12psi depending on my airflow (T70 .70/.63)
im also out in the middle east where its over 120+F with 98%humidity
if you have ever FI-ed a renesis you will find an intercooler is a must.
preferably water/meth as a safety. plus all the other supporting mods
i dont think theres much you can advise me as this is my 2nd FI-ed rx8

I know some of the LS1 guys were running no intercooler on rearmounts. But only on the low boost setups, we are talking 4-7psi with modest power gains. Anything higher and your IATs are gonna go through the roof, especially if you go out and thrash on it a bit.

Right, but you're asking for so much piping if you do something like that. Better way to do it is to run a custom watter cooled piping down there and have it cool the piping w/out an intercooler.
You should run E85, but since you're in the middle east, then probably should run meth with 93 octane.

^^that's what I would run to keep the IAT's down. It would drop phenomenally. Mounting wouldn't be easy though.

i run 98 if there was such as thing as e85/95 here id be glad to convert
since theres no "crop" fields here so only choice is good old black gold fuel
and its cheap anyways about .34 cents per gallon and c16 racing fuel flows like wine in dubai

except it only costs $20 per drum
