no it is part of the cooling system. to insure that air bubbles actually do not continue to circulate in the cooling system.
An additional idea of mine is that MAYBE it (the same cannister) could be used for the air to water inter cooler reservoir instead of the air separator tank.. I talked to betsy about them today----very sweet set up.

It's one of those MUST DO's if you own an 8! I missed it this year, but I've been to the DGRR (Deals Gap Rotary Rally) which is held in the same place.
BTW if you ever get up to North Alabama give me a yell.

We have a pretty cool group of foks up here in our club. Check us out at TVRX8.ORG. Usually someone is up for a burger and/or a beer.

I discovered the "Dragon" for the rx8 club. hehe---years ago i posted about deals gap (i used to use it to go to a white water launch point) and the guys took off with it. They sure did a good job promoting and it is a great event. I am all for that also--maybe a side trip to Road Atlanta?

We posted this the other day on the Pettit site, This is our flash pull 2nd stage settup, just like all the kits sold. Look at that strait solid HP line. This was also an at the least 85 degree day. Click on the dyno to expand, If anyone can paste it bigger please do.

oooh - that's better than **** ....

I hoped you guys would show us a decent dyno at some stage - the previous ones showed a real bad dip at 7200 . MYSQL - if you are reading this - can you put it up on the comparison chart please .

Its pretty flat and the volume of TQ along the entire RPM range is outragos compared to anything ive seen yet on 6 psi, its making that much TQ, maybe not so much HP but theres nothing like running these cars from 3 grand all the way to 8 or 9000 in 4th or 5th, its crazy. I love turbos also but for the street and roadcourse I like the blower, its so much more fun in my oppinion. If you race turbos like I ran my car for as long and hard im willing to say your turbostuds will be welded and break off.

Ray,
I plan on doing a Dyno Run up North. We can get those exact numbers, though not the "Flashed" ones. I know the flash is supposed to by way more linear than the X, but it will be an idea of where it is at with the X to compare to the Flash.

I have heard of over aggressive law enforcement on the Dragon. I was up there a week ago on my motorcycle and there was 6 LEO's on The Dragon. They seemed to be fairly chilled. I was there for about 4 hours and only one guy got a ticket. He was a Harley rider who was in the 45 zone at the lake heading back toward NC.

If you have not been there in a while, you have to fight the urge to accelerate out of the corners. It does not take much to put you over the 30 mph speed limit in the tight section. With a trooper or deputy around about every corner you do not want to take any chances.

I will still go to The Dragon once in a while, but there are so many great roads in NC and some that I enjoy actually better than the dragon. They are just as curvy and are longer. It is just impossible to replace the excitement of The Dragon.

Well I just finished my install. The car definately has more kick in the lower rpms. Anyone planning on doing the install yourself? Make sure you have an experienced mechanic helping you. I have a couple of other minor issues, but it wouldn't be fair to Pettit to air them in the open forum since Cam has allways done his best to assist me in the past.

plan on doing my install soon. I will not "back out" of buying the int x from scott since I had already ordered it--I cant do that type of thing. He is suppose to ship it this week. I can get use out of it i am sure between data logging and track.
I live about 500 miles away from the install point and my work could not let me go until sometime in november. so my plan is:
1- Cam to ok shipment this week--he likes to make sure the kit is right when shipped.
2- install with the int x.
3 sort out any "issues"/individual things I would like to do(maybe an inlet charge temp monitor--maybe a single radiator up front, maybe a battery relocate etc
4- make an appointment with Cam in November and go get the flash?
Meanwhile I have a billet oil filter relocation kit from ebay(turned out VERY nice) with gauges access x 2 , earls ss 10an lines and earls nickel plated swivel fittings. I had forgotten how much of a pita putting these lines together would be. But they sure are purty.
Getting mazsports chrome/polished windshield washer bottle and then mounting all on the firewall.

How much weight does the kit add to the front.??
