So looking for some advice here. I am planning to hook up my oil catch can, it is non-vented. Right now there is a breather with a t fitting. On one side it is hooked up to the oil fill tube, on the other it leads to the front of the compressor. Does this need to be vented to the atmosphere or will it effect anything running the lines straight from the filler tube into my catch can and then to the compressor?

On a side note with my newly installed vented hood the Supercharger whine is louder than ever. Love it.

I may be the last "new" purchase as the compressors are no longer available:

1. Owners Name(s): Nuke It / Bill
2. State and city of residence: Jensen Beach, FL
3. AT/MT & color of vehicle: MT Winning Blue
4. Installed By: Pettit @ West Palm Beach, FL
5. Any links that you wish to have added: Engine Management via Cobb AP

The Kenne Bell 2.1 and 2.6 fit the intake seal on the rear SC intake with a mod of the center bolt hole. My KB 2.1 fits pretty well after modding the bolt on the rear and the intake "brace" on the front.

There are compressors out there.

Any idea why Pettit wouldn't slightly retool the kit then if that were possible? Seems odd.

Anyone running this kit monitor their heat exchanger coolant temps?

Peak temp, normal driving temp, optimal temp?

Not really comparable but I have my turbo on a separate cooling circuit and the coolant doesn't get above 200F. So I would imagine the coolant in a supercharger system would be cooler.

If that was the case I would just tie into the OE cooling system

But I am working on the idea of a low profile mount with fans, and need a thermo switch to control them but I do not want a switch so low that the fans constantly run which is why I ask.

Also if anyone has any input on coolant vs water/ICE (I think OD ran this).

Talking with Cam roughly suggested 110-130F for exchanger coolant temps.

Can anyone confirm this?

I cannot confirm although I will say my intercooler gets pretty hot sometimes. I would think higher than those temps. Definitely not lower unfortunately, my kit is mostly stock other than moving the coolant tank from the normal location to where the washer fluid was.

I do not think mine is cool enough though and am going to change things up a bit in the coming months.

110-130F sounds like BS to me but it would depend how, where, and when you taking those temp readings. Mine are under 200F when taken at idle. Under hood temps alone are about 200F on just about everything under the hood. I use 50/50 coolant in my system.

You can see how my Bosch pump flows here.

I was skeptical as well, The lowest thermo-switch I can find turns on around 80-85C so I think I will just start there.

I am also debating about running Evans coolant.

I run Evans in the Engine and I like it, temps are a tad higher but much more stable. I just didn't see the point of running it in the cooling circuit for the turbo. I also have a fail safe for the turbo coolant circuit pump. I have an extra warning light if you want it, I had to order two. Then all you need is a pressure switch, it will alarm when no pressure is sensed.

I thought about running Evans after my rebuild but didn't feel like flushing the heater core, plus being in the north at the end of the day I didn't see the worth of it. I will probably just use FL22 again.

I am looking to do a V-mount heat exchanger setup laying them flat on the under tray with venting and fans(pushing air from the high pressure radiator chamber down and out the bottom of the under tray) as this will free up any obstructions to the radiator plus I was going to modify my AEM intake to re-use its air filter location/MAF housing/ and add an air straightener honey comb after the bend into the engine bay slightly before the MAF.

Can't wait to get started on this project in 2 weeks.

Scott,

What tank/pump are running Moroso and Bosch (http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc....VV18u0bl_70)? Any requirements/recommendations on pump flow rate?

That pump looks identical to mine which is a Bosch auxiliary pump from a Mercedes S class.

This is a video (click pic) of mine so you can see how fast it pumps. This is it comes out of the cooler, back into the reservoir.

I'm planning to try and move away from Evans with a higher pressure cap

I'm looking for some dress pulleys for the ancillaries with the Pettit fitted, does anyone which ones are compatible?

Thanks
