The rp is synthetic right?? If so, i'd like to keep using non-syn because that is all I have ever put in the crankcase.

you using the int-x? 172 is normal with it. If I don't go into boost, I don't get it. If I boost, I get it within 5 minutes. So if you're NA and you get it, it sounds like you should lean it out more since even the stock car doesn't get it and it run damn rich.

Pat,

Get your car to DC around Nov. 16th and I'll drive it down for free!
I'm flying up to Arlington around that time(+/- a day or two) and will be following my daughter home(her in her Hyundai Accent), so we won't be setting any land speed records for sure!

I'd even buy the gas!

Turn around time would be like a week because then I would follow her back up to DC and then fly home.

And............I promise not to race Bastage from Melbourne down to the shop!
Sorry "G"............not in her sweet-*** car!

Dave

Yeah.......then we'll go challenge Rodney King right?
I am still on the fence about putting the S/C in my car and have been since May. I think about it daily and try to resist pulling the trigger.
It's one of those cases where I don't need it........but want it!

My install is set for next weekend if no surprises come forward. i am sure I will have some questions.
One thing in reading the install instructions is the map and maf work. I will be running the int x.
Pettit instructs to cut the intake temp wires from the maf and re route them back to themselves in the main harness. Says there is an intake temp sensor somewhere else but it never says where and what to do with it? I maybe missing something? Int x instructions tell me not to cut those wires.
So if someone could clarify that for me and the location of the map and where to hook it up (int x system)? Rest of it --will be work but dont see problems.

Calling Ray.............Calling Ray.
Might need one of those batman(errrrrr....trunk monkey) searchlight systems!

If all else fails.......PM "marsredr100"....aka "Juan", he did his own install and is quite knowledgeable.

Hey...BTW, my Racing Beat sways and endlinks should be in this week. Might be calling you and see if you have any install tips! Not sure when I will actually do it, kinda want to wait for a cold snap first. Oh, and my apologies for not calling you back last weekend.....was busy with a special lady friend!
It's no rush to get me back those cords, we'll make it happen at some point, don't worry about it.

[QUOTE=Charles R. Hill;2105329]Juan did a pretty sweet job.

The deal with the IAT wires is that you are just removing the sensor circuit from the factory MAF sensor and, instead, using them with the IAT sensor that is in the new intake manifold.

Roger That!

See new sensor location inside red circle.

You will need to cut the OEM ITP wires and a new (longer cable) included in the kit will added. This will in turn will hook up to the ITP located in the Pettit intake as noted in my last post.

Yeh, you want to now what the temps are after compresion and intercooling. Thats the only thing that sucks about the flash, you go back to the stock sensor. So if your charge temps go to high like if you ran out of I/C coolent or the I/C pump fails, you run the risk of high charge temps and no reduction of ignition timming.

Would it be that difficult to place the MAF/IAT as blow through instead of draw? Then you would get the post IC readings...

We havent tryed with the flash yet. We did get temp readings through the obd but flow readings were all messed up. Thats why when we ran the Emanage early on we had it on the boosted side.

What needs to happen is to come up with better methods to replace the complexity of the sensors...

But that is outside of the scope of this thread...

I was just thinking about that today too..."There has to be a better way"...

Moon are you going to try what you mentioned the dissassembly of a stock sensor and create a new one from it just to check the temp.

It seems like the MAF sensor is a chip of its own so that idea may be impossible.

Just for my own sake I installed an Air Temperature Sensor in the Pettit SC intake manifold (90 degrees from the Pettit AIT sensor location) past the intercooler and just before the lower intake manifold. I had to drill and tap a hole for the additional sensor and it allows me to monitor the charged air temperature with a digital gauge located in the middle of my RB gauge panel. So far I’m getting 98 to 108 temps while driving and 125 to 138 while in heavy traffic. Keep in mind that my intake setup is set for outside the engine bay air and we are still in the high 80s to low 90s temps in Florida. Therefore I assume that it might be a bit higher for the engine bay air filter setup.

those are not bad temps at all. I wonder what the inlet temps are compaired to the charge. Are they ambient? You can be surprised at the heat soak by the time the air gets past the TB. Speaking of which i am rerouting the heater hose that go by the back firewall--damn thing gets really hot and right by the intake.
It would be a good graph for the efficentcy of the A/W intercooler?
