Even if Tim did make a mistake and said the wrong thing or it was misunderstood I do not believe that its fair for everyone to continue to flame this post about disbelief and constant negative comments. For the last almost 3 weeks I have seen people dog on this kit and this particular post about how the price is to high and its blowing up cars etc... You cant expect a nice respectful person when all he gets HATED on all the time. Its just not fair to the vendors that are working there *** off to produce a product that wont blow your car up and one that will make power or do whatever its designed to do. I just hope my thread doesn't end up like this one, its just not fair to us.

All I'm saying is that long before he made that mistake a good majority of the posts on this thread were negative and just mean. But I do agree after the misunderstanding I think Tim did get a little frustrated but I think he shouldn't have posted negatively against the customer. But I see it like this, if someone continues to bother you over and over and over eventually your gonna explode on them. I think thats what happened and I hope it doesn't happen again to anyone else ..... especially ME....

If you have a problem with something just say it once dont keep on.... if price is to high then just type it once.

I honestly didn't take that comment that Tim made as an insult. I didn't think he was calling us cheap. Besides I wouldn't take it as an insult if he outright said it either but anyway I thought he was saying we're more of a conservative group. A lot of people on here do their research before getting something. Posts earlier in the thread even prove that. Everyone here seems to want concrete evidence before getting something (even then you'll get the guys calling bullshit instantly). Maybe he noticed that the 350z owners are more of a frivolous group of people who want a solution without really getting into knowing the product.

We should give these guys a break. They don't have to post here. They don't have to offer pictures and videos. They don't have to talk to us on a one on one basis. They have lives as well, possibly families. Things do come up and sometimes things are delayed such as Dynos. Maybe he's actually taking the time to perfect it before posting a dyno, I think it shows that he cares about the product. We all need to learn a little patience.

A dyno will show up when it shows up.

No offense taken here either, from what SFR was saying. They were trying to be helpful. Sure they made comparisions, sometimes thats good for reference, it wasn't a competition. The last 3 or 4 posts say it all. Maybe someone can email SFR and or they can read some of these posts and see that their work and contribution is taken more positively by the majority here than at first it seems.

I'm on to you, Jon... :D :D :D

Seriously, moderators should step in and possibly censure people that divert from the main thread topic, especially when things get inflammatory... other members like us want to read informative discussion and not "Real World-type" drama.

I agree that moderators should step in more often, we should do anything possible to ensure companies feel appreciated for taking their time to post on here. They are our connections! They provide us with resources that we would not otherwise be able to get.

seriously, you are totally right, he was not trying to be offensive, some of you guys took it way too far. and also you guys are generally more conservative and cheap when it comes to turbos anywho(but thats not coming from him, but from me)

I think some might be in denial and feel threatened that their Greddy kits aren't gonna be able to compete on a power level and are taking it out on SFR (can't be mad at themselves right?)... or they're just jerks. Embarrassing to say the least that a few people like that will pretty much taint the reputation of all owners.. I for one hope the SFR system does well and will wait with an OPEN MIND for the results. As for the price, if you can't afford it or won't pay it then you are obviously not the ones SFR is marketing to. They'll still sell their kits....

What other upgrades are needed with this kit, especially if you are able to run over 300hp? If this was already asked in this thread let me know but I didn't see it.

I want to see the dyno sheet and some pictures please. If u don't like SFR then stfu and move on, this is a thread to find out SFR turbo, not about fucing respect and shiit. Who give a crap about respect on internet. I like the SFR and i want to see the result. If u don't have the money for the kit, then stfu and don't talk please.

ok guys, I think we're moving to the opposite pole here...

Anyway, I think this thread is dead. Tim will no longer post on this forum. I don't know if D1GT-x8 will enlighten us further about SpeedForceRacing's product but without the actual vendor on tap we might as well close this thread.

Okay...now I don't want to put words in the guy's mouth, but I'm pretty sure that is not an insult.

He's a businessman, and he's making a very obvious statement here about market demand. How do I know it's a true statement? Because the car has been out for very nearly 2 years, and there is one turbo kit you can order now.

And why is there only one? Yes, the tuning issues and all that, but the demographics of the RX-8 market have at least as much to do with it. There aren't that many people looking to turbo their 8's quite frankly. If you're a hardcore drag racing nut, you bought a STi, or Evo, or 350Z, or Mustang GT. In all honesty, someone could have solved the ECU issues by now, but why pour resources into a project like that when there are 10x as many people waiting to get goodies for their Mustang?

Cliff's Notes Version: The average 8 owner had different priorities in mind than a 350Z owner when he bought the car, and those priorities don't match up with big dollar turbo kits.

That is exactly why I said this at the end of my very first post after he made that statement.........................
"I don't know, maybe I am taking it the wrong way but it just sounded like you guy's were saying that some RX8 owners might be a little cheap when it comes to aftermarket parts."
.............................................
It was a simple questionable statement that I was asking about, thinking in my head that I probably took it the wrong way to begin with.
I have never bashed his product or his company, in fact I have even called and spoke to TIM himself several months ago trying to keep tabs on this turbo kit, because I was seriously considering buying it.

Yeah, but then before he had a chance to explain himself, you made up your mind that he was insulting RX-8 owners. See: top of page 13.

Can you let us know what other type of upgrades we would need besides injectors after you go passed 300hp?

Thanks

Do you have the dyno results? You should have them already, I thought the car was dynoed already?, when will it be posted?

I think this is the problem right here, the car should have been dynoed already and if it has, it doesnt take more than 2 minutes to post the results here, but instead of just posting them ....these guys get a response about you are going to post them. They've also known about the old dyno you posted months ago so why would they go look at that? Its not of this current setup!

I can see where people feel like you are either hiding something or not really doing what you say you are doing and this is making them irritated. If you do something and they question you, you should just prove them wrong by posting all the info they need so they look at the situation in a positive way and to eliminate any doubt they may have but you have barely done this in their eyes.

Me personally, I would like to see much more of what you got going on and for you not to leave, wish you all the luck!

Anyway Im not trying to start trouble or anything just posting how I see it. I still hope everything is a success.

I really don't care about the dyno too much..

It's what your customers say after they have it for awhile. I also would like to see someone drive it for several thousand miles. And some good track results on a full course. And of course a decent 1/4 mile result would be good to see from some of your customers.

That is why I chose such words as, "was that IF ssr/sfr FEELS that" and,
"SOUNDS LIKE to ME that they MIGHT not"

"My main point was that if SSR/SFR feels that RX8 owners are cheap with their after market/turbo parts,"

"Sounds like to me that they might not be selling as many kits as they would like be selling,"

BUT OH WELL, IT IS OVER NOW!!!!!!
And hopefully TIM will continue to post and give everyone the excellent information he has so far about our 8's and what it takes to turbo charge them.
Keep up the good work.

Like I said before, I APOLOGIZE to ALL THE RX8 CLUB FORUM MEMBERS!!!!!!!!!!!
